Mike Thanks for your comment. Mom always said sharing is good - and she made us six kids healthy and wise with her great cooking. Here’s to Pappy’s and a share from us to you.
Your first video I watched was pork tenderloin. Then log cabin ghost. You two do a great story and editing. Bring your cams to old Sainte Genevieve sometime. I'm sure you would enjoy it! Happy St Patty's Day from a 💯☘ guy from South Buffalo, NY.
Deciding to buy the "flat cut" or "point cut" is the first decision that I always have to look up because I can't remember which one I buy. From the internet (of course): "Brisket usually comes in point cuts or flat cuts. Point cuts are rounder and have more marbling, which means you can get more flavor and juiciness from the fat. The leaner flat cuts are easier to slice uniformly. ... While point cuts may be tastier, well-cooked flat cuts offer a great deal of flavor." I buy the point cut, what's a few more calories for taste? And who cares what it looks like on my plate? Neatness counts for more permanent things: like my desk :-) But watching your wonderful video made me salivate. Now I can't wait to cook corned beef and cabbage, but have to wait until St. Pat's day. Darn!
Hi Gloria, this is Leslie, because of the size of this corned beef, we chose to use Suzy’s 8 qt unit. However most kitchens use the 6 qt size Instant Pot. I bought mine (the Duo Nova 6 qt) from Target when it was on sale. It’s a perfect size, and there are many accessories available that fit this size also. The rule of thumb with a pressure cooker is not to fill it too close to the pot’s rim, or that touches the lid inside. One can always cook in two batches too. So, let your pressure cooker size be predicated on your household/ family size that you’d be cooking for. The Duo Nova is a very popular model, but they are all very similar. I like push buttons vs dials, because I had read that the dials wear out 🤷🏻♀️. We put a LOT of food inside the 8 qt.. 😁
