I wish they had the air frying lid on this one. The ultimate lid model has some bad reviews - height of the internal pot is not high enough, the lid gets stuck, etc.
30 minutes is the default time, after the timer goes off have to click on saute setting & the timer will start for another 30 minutes. Glad you liked this video.
Hey, I am blind and cannot see the screen, & To use technology I use an screen reader on smart phones. I was hoping you could demonstrate the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker With WiFI item so I may know if it will work with a screen reader I will like to buy one for my kitchen? Turn on screen reader on your smart phone: Apple just ask Siri turn on voice over or Settings > Accessibility > Voiceover. Android, hold volume up+ and down- at the same time, or Settings > Accessibility > TalkBack. And will it work with Amazon Echo devices?
Hi Thas! Great vids! I have watched a few of your IP vids. I am new to IP and all things slow/pressure cooking. As much as I love to cook my friends can't believe I have yet to buy one. With my new work schedule and desire to cook healthier meals in abundance, it's time to invest in one. After all my research I think IP is my best bet. Which IP do you recommend for the IP noobie? I'm eyeballing the IP Pro and the IP Pro Plus. Wi-Fi is not a deal breaker for me, although that is awesome . 😄
IP is an amazing kitchen appliance, you're gonna love cooking in it. If you're not particularly interested in canning or don't require Wi-Fi functionality, the IP Pro is a great choice, boasting most of the latest features at a $30 lower price point compared to the Pro Plus model. To get an in-depth understanding of the differences between the Pro and Pro Plus, be sure to check out my comparison video at this link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1rHTqaWLg7o.html
Hi Thas, new subscriber here! I love your videos and you actually helped me pick out which IP to upgrade to😊 would you say you could make cupcakes or something like egg bites in the IP Pro Plus? I know there isn’t a bake option, so I’m somewhat second guessing my choice😅 thank you!
That’s right there is no bake setting. However, you can use steam cook setting for making cupcakes & egg bites, they wouldn’t have the crispy texture though. If you like to have wifi feature & cook using the app then Pro plus would be the perfect model.
Does anyone know a temp probe reference that can accurately get temps up to 250°F and wireless transmit it without issue through this pot ? Canning is a huge feature to me but I can't trust a product that has no heat probe/reading.
Had you found a solution for the probe? I have a wireless Bluetooth thermometer that transmits from inside the pressure cooker, but I've never tried it under pressure, I'm afraid the water will enter the probe and ruin it.
Since you review so many of these instant pots, in your opinion which would be better for canning, the max or the pro plus? I don't care about the WiFi settings or any other setting other than pressure cooking. I own a viva and never use any setting for the past 2 years, I only use manual pressure cooking. Thanks.
If you primarily use your Instant Pot for manual pressure cooking and don't require the additional features like WiFi connectivity, then both the Instant Pot Max and the Instant Pot Pro Plus can serve your canning needs effectively. Consider the price difference between the two models. If you find that the Pro Plus meets your needs and is more budget-friendly, it could be the better choice.
@@thasneen thank you for your reply. I will purchase the max since it is currently 120$ cheaper on Amazon. I'm looking forward to canning my garden's harvest.🙂
Great review! Can you please tell me if it is possible to set from the app so that after 10 minutes of Natural Release, it switches to Quick Release? Or, if this is not possible, can you change the pressure release mode directly from the app during cooking? Thank you!
On the app, we can select either quick or pulse steam release- no selection means it will do natural pressure release. There isn't an option to set to quick release after 10 minutes of natural release. However, we can change the release mode during cooking as well on the app. Hope this helps :)
@@thasneen Thank you for your response, the information you provided certainly helps me. I saw another review from someone who connected with an Android phone and couldn't change the pressure release mode directly from the app during cooking. That's why I suspect you're using an iPhone? Because the iOS app seems to have more options.
I had to double check, after reading your response I cooked in the IP pro plus 😊on the app we can select different pressure release modes. After setting the pressure release mode on the app, we won’t be able to change it through the app while cooking or after cooking. However, we can change it manually on the Instant Pot & it’ll reflect on the app. Sorry I was wrong before, so yeah it’s similar to the Android app.
@@thasneen Thank you very much for double-checking, I truly appreciate it! While it would be great to have those options, the Pro Plus model is still excellent. It just arrived, and I've already had the chance to cook something in it. I'm extremely satisfied. Thanks for the detailed reviews that helped me decide on this model; they were incredibly helpful! Wishing you continued success!
Good question, I just tried with the old pot & got the C8 error- C8 indicates that you have placed the wrong inner pot. It doesn’t work with the old pots 😊
I did the water test. Instead of finishing in 5 minutes i cancelled on 16 minutes and it was still cooking. Took 7 mins in preheating. Is there anything i am doing wrong?
Try cooking in the IP, based on the amount of food & liquid in the pot preheating usually takes a few minutes, if it's taking more than 10 to 15 minutes might be something wrong with the IP. You can contact IP customer service, they will help you in trouble shooting, if that didn't work will send you a new one.
I think wrong thing was buying a gadget which does a job for you in more than 15 minutes a job you could do on stove with a simple pot in 8-10 minutes , wash in two and that’s it
