Going to try this this week for my toddler. I accidentally ordered an enormous bag of rice a few months ago thinking it was much smaller. He loves oatmeal, so this should be a hit.

If you use long grain rice then just it the rice button which is for 12 minutes it comes out nice and creamy.

❣Great videos and information! Olga, You are a light and your sons are so adorable and sweet; what great helpers. I was wondering if an egg yoke or two could be added to this method/recipe; it's how my Portuguese mother use to make it🙂 or will the egg yoke have to be added after as not to separate? I'm new to the instant pot, my wonderful husband just got me one. So Grateful and Blessed! New sub! Thank you!

Curious if making smaller or single portion could you place a smaller container inside versus using the pot directly?

I have never tried cooking it in a smaller container inside the Instant Pot. You could try simply halving the ingredients and making less.

There are many variations and different instructions to most recipes. I share the recipe the way I make it, have tested it multiple time and gotten wonderful results. Hope that helps.
