In order to get an accurate evaluation, you have to execute real root-cause analysis. And you nailed it! Talk to the learner. Talking to management about what they believe is the root-cause is fine, but the process owner is who we hope to reach. Or else the issues are seldom resolved. Thanks for bringing this out.

Wonderful content, keep it coming. I use other models as well but you're right, Addie is considered the gold standard.

Love your channel, Vanessa; I've been following a while to hear your insights about ID. I'm in a graduate program for the field and was interested in your thoughts regarding the practicality of design models in your day-to-day role in ID. In your experience, is it always practical to use ADDIE with a more research-intensive front-end analysis phase, OR do you find yourself taking the rapid prototyping approach more often, like in an Agile model like SAM?

Totally depends honestly. I’ll tell you in my experience as a consultant when clients have tried the rapid round or trying agile we end up spending more time. And I dont run my projects that way bc I need to watch our margins and time spent on the project. I see more success when we spend a little time vetting and planning. In my experience agile/prototyping only gets the itch scratched of seeing some progress but you end up in circles round and round and the time ends up the same. I could go on and on about the failures ive seen with more agile approaches!! Maybe thats a good video!

@@VanessaAnchored Thanks so much for your reply and insights! It sounds like it's the same as with many kinds of projects--that rushing through or skipping parts of the front-end research/planning process risks a lengthier (and more expensive) process in the long-run. I appreciate that you share so many valuable tips on your channel, so I continue to listen regularly. Wishing you much ongoing success in ID!
