Hyundai has just introduced the small electric car Inster EV, positioned in the segment between A and B. The car is equipped with an electric motor and offers two battery pack options, with an operating range of 300 to 355 km.
Korean car brand Hyundai has revealed detailed images and specifications of the Inster EV. According to the manufacturer, the Inster EV is developed from the Hyundai Casper platform, with an overall length increased by 230mm and a wheelbase increased by 180mm, providing more spacious and comfortable space.
The Hyundai Inster EV measures 3,825 mm in length, 1,610 mm in width, 1,575 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. It comes with 15- or 17-inch rims. This is smaller than the A-segment Hyundai Venue (3,995 x 1,770 x 1,645 mm, 2,500 mm wheelbase) and the B-segment Creta (4,315 x 1,790 x 1,660 mm, 2,610 mm wheelbase). The Hyundai Inster EV comes in two different versions. The standard version uses a front-wheel-drive electric motor, producing 96 horsepower and 147 Nm of torque, with a 42 kWh battery pack, for a range of 300 km. The Long Range version has a capacity of 113 horsepower, 147 Nm of torque, with a 49 kWh battery pack, for a range of 355 km.
In tests, the standard version was capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 11.7 seconds and reaching a maximum speed of 140 km/h. The Long Range version accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 10.7 seconds and reached a maximum speed of 150 km/h.
Hyundai said that the Inster EV supports DC fast charging with a capacity of up to 120 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 30-80% in 30 minutes under optimal conditions. The car is also equipped with a standard 11kW AC charger, with a full charge time of 4 hours for the standard version and 4 hours 35 minutes for the Long Range version. In addition, the Inster EV also supports the V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) feature, providing 110 or 220V voltage, allowing charging or providing power to other devices.
The Hyundai Inster EV has a 5-seat interior, equipped with an LED lighting system with 64 optional colors, and a modern one-touch sunroof. The car uses many sustainable materials for both the exterior and interior, from the paint to the upholstery. The front seats can be folded flat, while the rear seats can be folded in a 50:50 ratio and can slide or recline to create flexible space. Inside the car, you will see a 12.3-inch digital screen and a 12.3-inch floating touch screen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The Inster EV is equipped with many advanced safety features such as lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot warning and forward collision avoidance assist. In addition, the car also has rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, driver attention warning and front vehicle departure warning. Automatic adaptive headlights help optimize lighting and ensure safety when driving at night.
The Hyundai Inster EV is being developed for many markets around the world. It is planned to launch first in India in the second half of this year, and the price will be announced at the same time.
