Despite the sound gap towards the end, this was such an eye opener to me. I have CDs of Lawrence and the Harp Consort, but seeing and hearing him play these chromatic tunes with no levers, pedals, etc. is really inspirational. Now, I just need to be fifty years younger and go find him and study with him. In much the same light, hearing him play the tiny medieval harp in another RU-vid clip made me realize that great musicians can make great music from whatever is available.
Thank you very much, Mike! Andrew does indeed make excellent music with whatever instrument he is playing at the time...and we do plan to put up a corrected video sometime soon...stayed tuned and the best way is to subscribe to the channel, you'll get an update for anything new we post. Many thanks!
Yes, definitely! Spanish continuo treatises specify harp and organ as options, cf. José de Torres' 'Reglas generals de acompañar...': www.bne.es/es/colecciones/partituras/tratados-musicales/reglas-generales-acompanar-organo-clavicordio-harpa
