Godfather Buried Alive, is the second album by Belizean-American rapper Shyne. It came out on August 10, 2004, released by Def Jam while Shyne was in prison serving a 10-year sentence. The album has 13 tracks, with 12 of them being previously recorded vocals and one recorded over the phone from jail. It features other artists like Kurupt, Nate Dogg, Foxy Brown, and Ashanti, and music production from Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Mike Dean, and Just Blaze, among others. The album entered the Billboard 200 chart at #3, selling 158,000 copies in its first week.

Moses Michael Levi Barrow, originally named Jamal Michael Barrow but better known as Shyne, is a rapper and politician from Belize. Barrow was born in Belize but moved to Brooklyn, New York City, as a child, where he started rapping as a teenager. He is famous for his 2000 singles "Bad Boyz" and "Bonnie & Shyne." Additionally, he contributed to several multi-platinum albums, including Usher's Confessions, Lil Wayne's Carter IV, Notorious B.I.G's Born Again, Mase's Double Up, and Puff Daddy's Forever, among others, while working with his former record labels, Bad Boy Records and Def Jam Recordings.
