Insulated Thermal Tent Camping

Beautiful wife has gotten me an insulated ice fishing tent for an early Christmas present! We tested it out camping on WAY too windy of a day, and nothing really went as planned. If anyone is curious this tent is an Otter Vortex, and we got it from Cabela's. I will do a more complete review of the tent in the upcoming videos. Cheers everyone!

You really should use a coleman white gas stove in cold weather. No more temperature expansion issues and great performance. There are some great older model single burners, but if you're just looking for a new unit, their 533 sportster stove is a great model. You can usually snag them online for around 90 bucks. Check it out! And if you want a larger cook surface/two burners, and don't mind the extra space and weight, their suitcase stoves are great as well.

The thing about cheap gear, especially stuff like pans, is that you have to keep buying it and it adds up over time. You buy a good cast iron/carbon steel set once, and you'll probably be able to pass it down to your grandkids. As long as you clean it when you store it and keep it seasoned and dry, you never have to worry about "trashing" cast iron cookware at camp. In fact, the more you use it, the better it gets, especially at really high temperatures. Point being, being cheap about that kind of stuff is actually more expensive in the long run. Get good quality stuff, even if it costs more, and you'll spend less money overall than repeatedly buying cheap stuff that you expect to break or fail after a short use period. If you're going to spend on anything related to camping gear and get the good stuff, cookware is at the top of the list of stuff you should not cheap out on.

While it's a bit late in the year for bear there are other large predators in the Canadian Rockies like wolves that will be attracted to food smells. It was a little risky to eat in the tent, I would probably have sat in the car to eat. Cooking in the tent would have left lingering odors that would have been impossible to remove and could attract bears next time he uses it during bear season.

you need to get the coleman portable stole that have a back and sides that flips up to block the wind and the burners are excellent. You can hear the flames shooting from the burner. it’s the Coleman Portable Propane Gas Classic Stove with 2 Burners. Walmart sells it.

@@lindahopson5003 A couple of my neighbors (here in Arizona) who are from Canada had to sell their winter golf house and head north because the travel rules are so weird. They'd had the place for 18 years. I HATE THIS STUPID VIRUS!
