This mini-documentary shows the behind the scenes of my 2015-16 print "Whisper". Using three main techniques-drypoint, aquatint, and hard ground etching, I created different textures on the plate's surface so that the feel of the image's textures played an important "tactile" role in supporting the content of the image. The background was created first with line work, then value was added in aquatinted steps. Afterwards, the fox was incorporated into the image using subtle drypoint lines layered to create the desired values and textures in the final print. The final print is printed on Magnani Pescia paper using Charbonnel Inks.
