Thank you for the video. What if I don't need the automation but to have the option to choose different speakers for playing the music. How to do it? Please advise
Hi, Thank you for the clear video. the bleu print works really well, but i keep getting the same error: UPnP Error 714 received: Illegal MIME-Type from 192.***.***.** Is there anything i can do or could you lead me in a direction to fix this? Sorry im verry new to HA
thank you verry much for this video, i have only problems with the playlist playing. it don't play songs from my playlist, most of the songs it's playing from what is like. how to solve this?
thank you for watching 🎉🙌, mmmm I looked it up and didn't find anything related to your problem in the project page (as I'm not experiencing that), but check that you are setting the type to playlist (see my example for the mini media player), if you use channel or history it will create a radio from the playlist (that might result in the behavior that you are describing) hope it helps 🤞.
Cool! I want to use it as a chime automation. Is there a way I can: 1. if playing: pause what is playing currently. 2. set volume to 90%. 3. play chime song. 4. set volume back. 5. if was playing, play. Id really appretiate it! :D
Yes, I probably need a detailed video just on how to create automations in home assistant, my last video was supposed to be that, but it got too big, but I'll add it to my schdule for the future. But yes, you can easily create the automation that you describe on home assistant. Check on the comments on my website, I think someone asked me something similar for the 5 part. To be able to interrupt the playback without loosing the progress.
Excellent tutorial. However it starts playing, then after 4 seconds, it stops. Then it pauses for a long time. Then it restarts the track. I don't understand why. I am playing to an Airplay device. The player is okay with other sources. Any ideas?
Ok... I did some research and found 2 currently open issues in the integration's repository related to airplay problems, but nothing definitive (it could be a user-specific problem not related to what is happening to you because they couldn't get any sound at all), no other specific reference to airplay in the integrations page, but it could be a limitation in how the player works since google has limited the download speed to almost real play time, the player doesn't get to cache the whole song before sending it to the device, and that might just not play right with the way the default airplay integration works [pyatv]. I also tried to replicate it using an airplay emulator, but I couldn't get any sound out of it using the default integration, so that was another dead end. But... (here comes the good news), I'm currently working on a Music Assistant Video (coming in two weeks 😅), and I noticed that it detected the airplay device and integrated it with home assistant, and thought that integration [LMS-Raop] I was able to get music playing on the airplay emulator without an issue. Music Assistant Supports YT music, Spotify, plex, etc and let's you combine different sources, adds crossfade capabilities, and more. I will make mention to the airplay support and show how you can easily create automation in home assistant with it, so stay tuned 🙌
@@fixtse.fantastic. Thanks for your hard work! Hopefully I can get that working so I will wait for your new video. Currently I stream from squeezebox (aka Logitech Media Server) to AirPlay devices (specifically cheap second hand AirPort Express base stations). This works well and I can run playlists from my home server music collection but these days I prefer to turn on music from RU-vid Music as it has a really good algorithm for continuing for many hours playing new music that I like. So my aim is to be able to stream directly from RU-vid Music to these (slightly older) airplay devices, using Home Assistant. Actually I prefer to use Node-RED but HA is a lot better for managing this kind of stuff. Cheers
Really, it's my pleasure, I always end up learning more interesting things from other people's use of tech, and I use it as a source of inspiration, so keep the questions coming 😁. Same, I feel like the algorithm already got my vibe, and I really like the just hit play and enjoy the ride experience. I'm having some sync problems with music assistant while playing in groups, I think might be some raspberry-pi limitation (although I'm monitoring the resources of it and everything seems normal), I need to do more testing to figure out if its a hardware limitation or if it's a software one. It would be a shame that you can use it only for one media player at a time.
Hey, sorry to hear that, you might want to check the logs after calling the service to get more insights into what might be happening in your case, so you can open an issue in the git repository of the integration.
I installed youtube media player, but i don't get the three buttons. Only browse media (and i got youtube media player only on entities) When click settings i got: This entity ("media_player.ytube_music_player") does not have a unique ID, therefore its settings cannot be managed from the UI. See documentation for more details.
Hey, can you point me to whitch three buttons are you referring? If you can give me a video timestamp I can understand better to what part you are referring to. As for the message that you are seeing about the "not have a unique ID", that's normal, mine says the same, as it it's controlled directly by the integration and can't be change by the UI.
I'm listening to music right now with lastest stable version of the integration and home assistant 2023.11.2. Try updating the cookie in the integration, every now and then it expires and the integration starts to fail.
Try repeating the process, I just updated the cookie a couple of days ago and it worked without a problem. Or you can try Music Assistant (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eOC0CTaydUk.html) which also supports YT music, and the login process is a breeze.
Tried repeating, no joy. Music Assistant looks great, but upon trying to set that up I got "Error Config flow could not be loaded: 500 Internal Server Error Server got itself in trouble". I have no luck 🤣@@fixtse.
This entity ('media_player.ytube_music') does not have a unique ID, therefore its settings cannot be managed from the UI. See the documentation for more detail.
