Out of curiosity, what are your favourite hardcore bands?

There is plenty of metal going on here. Plenty of hardcore too, but plenty of metal.

See, that's where I'm finding it tricky, some metal, but really not at the same time. You've got some very valid points, I can see you've absolutely done your homework and a fan of the band, just can't get place this near a Helloween, WASP or Hellbringer album to name just a few.

Being so tied into the definition of metal does no good. This band may be less "metal," but they're heavier than the bands you mentioned. Genres aren't strict. Most bands fall somewhere in the middle of the Venn diagram, you know?

Ah, you've got a good point there on both accounts. Alas, this is where we all have the debate, hence the Lock Horns section. The answer is not everyone is going to agree, and why should they. As long as people understand that we're not going to agree on the acute points, you're Venn diagram description is possibly the best way forward for everyone. Maybe something for future episodes, if not already done.
