I ordered Intense Café the other day and it arrived today. I put it on and I fell in love. I could definitely smell the rose right in the beginning actually. Then I noticed vanilla right after, but no coffee. The coffee scent found its way to my nose later on. I can definitely smell a soft coffee aroma and I think the mixture is just amazing. It's my first Montale, but definitely not the last one. Great video by the way, thank you!
Thank you for such an informative review, I have recently learned that I dislike most rose notes, so the IC is not for me! Will definitely have to try the ristretto 😊
I love intense cafe. I can notice the coffee notes; but it's never screaming and in the dry-down it's a whisper. It's there, but I do need to pay attention to it, to notice it's there. It's a bit like a bass or rhythm guitar that builds up the musical background. I find all notes in intense cafe blend really well together.

Yep, I agree with you, there is no coffee on intense café, it's all about vanilla and rose. A very lovely fragrance and by the way identical to its cousin, Mancera Roses Vanille (seriously they both smell the same). Great review as always. Greetings from Spain. Thank you for this review. I received a lot of compliments when I wear ristretto intense cafe. I love the depth and roundness of this fragrance on my skin. I like also intense cafe especially when wearing it layered over my clothes.
I don't think I have Aoud Cafe but since Mancera and Montale perfumes are all created by the same perfumer, Pierre Montale, and from my experience they are quite similar, probably those too will be bit similar too
Just got myself a back up bottle of Intense Café as it was bargain. First time I wore I thought that maybe it was not unisex more feminine leaning but got me lots of complements and it's so long lasting. I've not tried ristretto which is double the price of intense cafe. Think I will just stick with what I know and love and maybe get ristretto in future once it can be bought at more reasonable price.
I consider myself a “manly” man... Hunt, fish, have a beard... All the basics. I throughly enjoy Montale’s Intense Cafe... The coffee is very noticeable in the opening(the first 10-15 minutes) but it does quickly subside and the Rosey Vanilla nuances take over... I really enjoy a good Rose scent, I have Creeds Royal Mayfair, which has a more masculine Rose... Intense Cafe is rich, sweet and a bit powdery.. Strictly Late Fall and Winter scent for me... Something different and a bit risky for some of us guys out there...

I think by the samples i have the ristretto got something leaning a bit more masculine.. 😂 Might bee cause of the super sweetness of the intense 🙈 love them both! Get more coffe in ristretto. A hinted, coffe scent in the background from intense the first hour. 🧡
Yes, I am a guy and I have tried Intense Cafe... I found it to be so well blended... to the point that even though it did lean to the feminine side a little... it just smells so wonderful who cares! I do get a little coffee vibe in the base /background. Now, what I was wishing Intense Cafe had more of and what this fragrance made me crave was... more of that coffee note. So, I am happy to see that the house of Montale has made this flanker! Without smelling The Ristretto IC, I feel is what Intense Cafe was trying to be... I hope to someday get my nose around the Ristretto version! THANKS
Im always late to the party (video) but loved this one! They forgot to put the coffee in intense cafe 😂 I haven’t smelled it but think that way about black opium- what coffee?! Where did you get those small bottles?
I don't like drinking coffee; terrible on the breath, but it smells nice! Also, I don't have a feminine side. I am all man ... through and through. So these scents will not work for me, but Tommelise would! 10/10 ;)
*Interesting comparison, Yana!* Get from Intense Cafe just a tart sugared milk coffee vibe. But it's indeed a female beastmode gourmand. 2 sprays lasts 16+ hrs. on skin, recommend applying before clothing. It lasts on shirt almost forever! Good to know that they amped up the coffee note in Ristretto Intense Cafe. I'll give it a try. ☕🙂👍
Hello Tommelise. First time watching one of your videos. Tried IC when a friend of mine told me I must try it. Fell in love immediately. I agree with you that it leans towards feminine because of the rose that lingers, but I don’t care, this is my new favourite fragrance right now. Unfortunately in the UK nobody sells Ristretto IC :(
Tommelise, the Montale website itself is probably the best option for me. With my order I get a free 20ml bottle of another fragrance of my choice too! Which other Montale fragrance would you recommend I try? I prefer unique scents that smell like nothing else, but must last long and have strong projection.

Black velvet Cafe пахнет носками. Очень тёмный, древесный. Советую сначала познакомиться и не брать флакон вслепую. Мне очень нравиться silk lace and chocolate, он сладкий и шоколадный,очень приятный.
You’re correct about not smelling much coffee in the original Intense Cafe. I think it was reformulated. I purchased Intense Café the very day it first came out in the market. Originally it smelled like a very sweet and sugar-sticky latte. There was a little trace of our as well. The bottom line is that the coffee was the dominant note, note the Rose. Somewhere in between the first day and now when I mist recently purchased another bottle, it was reformulated where the rise and the amber notes are more more salient. I don’t smell any coffee in this recent purchase. The perfume still smells very good and now much wearable (you don’t smell like a cup of latte has spilled over). It can wear it now for business and evening activities the first original formulation was not as suitable for, but I was broken hearted to have lust the coffee note. I’m looking forward to smelling this new version to recover that coffee note that the original lost.

Post Eingang thanks for the comment. I was thinking that I would buy Intense Cafe but I saw a number of reviews that said that it also smelled like Delina Exclusif which I already have. Thanks for the confirmation of this. I’ll try to get my hands on Ristretto instead.
This is the comment I was trying to find. When people kept saying IC smells like “roses and vanilla”, my immediate thought was “Does it smell like Delina or Delina Exclusif?”, because I have the latter, and to me it smells like a powdery rose vanilla perfume. THANK YOU!
There's a new brand Akro that has scents based on addictions: coffee, chocolate, etc. Haven't tried them yet, they seem interesting. Intense Cafe wasn't for me. I love the smell of coffee and I drink it, everyday. ❤

Im sticking with the original.....no need in spending mpre mney. but if one of these are your first......buy the ristretto. ristretto is mucho coffee and trait. I dont drink coffee as well.
@@Tommelise Myself personally He finally emailed me back. First he said he would send then he said just a refund. Whem I asked for a shipping tracking number since he said he sent it he refused to send it. I offered to send the tracking number he sent me in april that says only a label had been printed out but he refused that as well. Yana I am just letting people know so they would fall for this. I know you have a large family of viewers and we all have to watch out for each other.
