Hey im purchasing a Sony HVR Camera and i was wondering if i could import HDV footage to my computer using the intensity shuttle. The HVR camera has a firewire port and i was thinking of using a "firewire to hdmi" cable to plug into the "hdmi in" port on my intensity shuttle and import onto my computer as normal. Do you reckon that would work ?

There is no such thing as Firewire to HDMI cables. You should simply connect the HDV camera to the computer using a Firewire card or Thunderbolt to Firewire adapters. No need for the Intensity Shuttle. You can use the HDV camera as a loop through to capture VHS tapes if you switch to DV-25 mode.

Thanks for this video explanation, I would like to convert VHS tapes into digital format, would the product 'TV ONE TVONE TASK TBC-GL' be any helpful to digitalise the tapes ?

I use a Canopus ADVC 110 as seen in the link below. You have to buy them used on ebay but they work great. That being said any Firewire DV Converter should work OK. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dVLUxRkPMdA.html
