Hi, I'm a fan of this series "Hospital Design". According to the previous topics, robots and automation have become essential part in the design of hospitals. This includes the following departments: lab, pharmacy, CSD, housekeeping...etc. Also, the application of AI is exponentially increasing in hospital as well as other healthcare facilities. This leads to either the disappearing of some hospital staff vacancies or minimizing their numbers (lab technician, housekeepers etc.). Does this apply to nursing staff in general and more specifically to the ICU nurses? Thanks your effort and time to make this series.
Hi, Steve. The use of robots in different industries including the healthcare is increasing dramatically. Thus, it seems the complete or partial replacement of the nurse staff will be just a matter of time. However, while the use of robots must be internationally organized and legalized in some careers, in other careers, it should be completely prohibited. The decision of either permission or prohibition should be made based on the type of career itself. The golden rule for the use of robots should be to help human, and not replace them.
Hi, you mentioned the ICU relationships and possible communication routes with the rest of hospital departments and areas. What's about the spaces within the ICU itself?. Thanks for sharing.
Hi. The 4 ICU case studies cover practically the relationship between the spaces within the ICU department (patient room, nurse station, working room, clean utility, soiled utility, storage room...etc.).
