I ran Super Swamper SSR's on my daily driven 1991 Blazer for years. Great tires. Expensive though a d became very hard to find in my size.

Those might be a bit of overkill for my Silverado. My KO/2s will get me out of the light off road time my truck sees.

Installing something backwards is not a good thing. What exactly does it cause driving? Vibration and poor wear? I've never run directional tires so I genuinely don't know.
