Interesting Voice lines about Visions | Genshin Impact Lore | ft. Dainsleif, Zhongli, Raiden Shogun 

Vision's chinese and Japanese name means "Eye of God" Now with that information, 0:33 feels a bit different.... It seems Mona got her vision from a human rather than it just appearing out of thin air. She and Ningguang are the only 2 characters to be actively using visions that are not originally theirs.

Zhongli's voiceline got my attention. For someone that has been living for millenia, it surprised that he didn't know how a Vision works --- he only sees them as form of contract. But then again, with Raiden's dialogue about how Visions are spread, it proves that Archons never had the ability to bestow those powers to anyone.

it’s worth noting that Mona’s vision was a “dead” mondstadt vision given to her by her master. she carried it around for a while until one day it lit up. neither of them seemed to hold any reverence for it, and like she said, she never needed her vision for her hydromancy. Albedo also sees his vision as nothing more than a tool + a mystery to solve

Zhongli's voiceline "So back then, they were aware of this as they stood beside me." seems to be connected with Ei's voiceline "the key is people's ambitions and-- well there's another side to it too." So are these voicelines hinting that there's a secret about Visions that Zhongli doesn't know of, while the rest of the archons do... Hmm thinking about it now Venti DID say something about Zhongli being an 'old blockhead' meaning Zhongli used to be oblivious/clueless

The visions are still quite suspicious seeing as how being deprived of them causes a former wielder to lose their sense of ambition, essentially losing a part of themselves in the process. There is conspiracy at work here.

The Vision hunt decree did show us that there’s a way of separating a person from the Vision such that they lose their ambition, leading to some losing their minds. It isn’t a physical separation, because Diluc was confirmed to have thrown his Vision away in lore, but wasn’t consumed by insanity. (And to think Diluc by right was using a Pyro Delusion, but for game purposes Diluc is presented with his Vision) I do feel that the Vision is literally tagged upon a part of the person’s soul, in particular their mind. Whatever Ei did while having to physically seize the Visions to be placed in the Statue of the Omnipresent God, was able to separate this invisible connection. Because as seen with Diluc, physical separation isn’t enough to make a person lose their ambition and lose their sanity.

I suspect that having a strong desire is only half the requirements. The other half is based on their beliefs. Each element represents something, and if your belief aligns with the said element, you then receive one.

Are we really all going to over look the fact that some one GAVE Mona her vision. People can’t usually use other peoples visions just look at how long it took Kazuha to use his friend’s vision and he only pulled that off once. So who ever gave Mona her vision was probably the actual distributor

From what I have perceived: People who’s ambition is connected to their passion = Pyro People who’s ambition is connected to their hopes = Anemo People who’s ambition derives from their ideals = Electro People who’s ambition derives from their past (but no specific goal) = Cryo People who’s ambition is directly connected to their dedication = Geo And I’m not sure about Hydro as much. I used to think that it was from wanting to do something other than what they were currently doing, but that wasn’t the case.

Visions, in short literally show the hierarchy of Gods and how they work. They also show how Archons of a particular element and the element itself are entirely different.

What if by what Ei means by “another side to it too”, is that it’s not a voluntary action? If we think about it, electro visions haven’t been given out for only a year, and the vision hunt is 1 year old by the time we get there. The gods could have a supernatural power where they get “visions” of people and their “ambitions” from time to time. But Ei has been meditating inside the plane of euthymia for a long time now. To prevent the effects of erosion, we know from miko that Ei has in fact been meditating in the sword, so does that somehow take away and preoccupy her mind from any involuntary actions, because while meditating she has to be fully aware of everything she is doing and thinking to combat erosion. Whenever the game mentions visions, its always made to sound like a god took a “glance” at someone (I’m sure we’ve all accidentally looked at someone before, ie involuntarily), which is made more evident by the way they’re further described “when a god casts their gaze upon you” etc. There’s a lot of holes in this theory but I haven’t seen it anywhere else and I’d love peoples thoughts on it.

arn't you forgetting venti's voiceline that says, anyone who wields a vision can go to celestia (he tells you this after his gnosis is taken when you meet him under the tree)

You know whats weird is how common folk believe that Visions are gods gift and yet the actual gods are not too sure about them or are hiding what they know. This explanation of it being a gift must come from somewhere or started by someone, and it sure isnt from the gods or what they said. I have a rough theory that visions are indirectly caused by the gods. I think that if a certain person has such a strong will/ambition that aligns/resonates with a certain god and their backstory, elemental energy is awakened and accrued to form or awaken a vision, without the god even being aware.

the voice lines give us possible lore dumps like: zhongli's voice line implies some sort of warriors who had visions and fought with him but was not adepti dainslef's (how do you even spell his name) voice line implies that even tho gods are all-powerful and don't need them, visions are still something valuable I can do a whole mfing deep dive into possible implications these voice lines give us and that is not even all of the voice lines

I think the gods of celestia are the ones that grant the empty shells and what element it will represent depends on people desires and ambitons, each element represents a god and their believes if someone fits them, the element appears. Kazuha’s dead friend vision became empty when he died but when kazuha wore it his friend ambitons defeated death and were able to light the vision once more i think after getting a vision a part of human soul get attached to it( in the archon quest in the plane of ethymia traveler can hear ppl voices and their ambitions even tho they werent physicaly attached to their owners) for one year no new electro visions appeard, maybe because a god must be present mentaly in the human world? But since Ei locked her mind in the plane of ethymia she couldn’t hear people’s wishes and grant the electro visions, it checks out because as she said its not in her powers that visions are granted or denied( as already celestial god decide if somebody receives one) but the element does depend on archons even if they are not aware of every person wishes but rather archons consciousness is focused on the humans ( when ei was meditating in the POE she locked her mind from the outside world, yes she was aware what was happening outside but locked her mind from „hearing” people’s desires) and it checks out with „and there is another side to it too”. Zhongli voiceline is very sus and i have no idea what is he talking about.

Is it possible that visions uses strong ambitions as a source of strength to manipulate the elements or is it celestia that draws strength from people's ambitions through the visions in return for being able to use the elements since its confirmed that it is celestia alone who can grant visions then it would make sense only people with strong enough ambitions would receive them since they would be able to get more energy from them.🤔
