No way. The entryway was sparse and colorless. The bench looked too conservative and uncomfortable. The yellow table combined with the new door color is what made it.

I just don't get it. It's a mess. The yellow console, the stacked books, the repugnant 3 legged milking stool. Everything ephemeral and nothing remaining of any substance or class.

Personally I would have taken the hardware off, primed the door even though the paint had a primer.

I admired her confidence in her painting skills. She didn't need to tape around the door hardware! BTW, I have always loved the blue and yellow combination! To me, it adds a happy/fresh vibe to your decor! NanaAnn

Adding a black item to a room is a known decorating tool because it defines and clarifies the other colors making them pop.

I was thinking the same thing, paint the chair white or door color (maybe door to tie in the color, I'd paint the mirror frame white as well probably maybe the door color if you go the three / triangle theory. The painting is nice but I might for something simpler and bolder - could be an abstract. But I think more storage and or hanging space ie coat rack is helpful.

Sbeav agreed! I thought the yellow looked tacky and a bit juvenile.

It's easier to go around small details/hardware with an artist's brush, rather than using painter's tape ;)

I am no expert but I think there is a lack of clarity in her design. I agree the mirror should have been white which would have made this narrow space appear wider. I am not so sure it is that modern. I get that the house overall is rather cluttered with lots of art or whatever but I think she needed to clarify the look is it art deco? Very contempory? Was she trying to go more whimiscal with the pop of color of the door and table? The stool practical should it have painted. She is missing the tri concept ie repeating the color/element 3 times And I thinkshe needed to be more practical ie the bench for storage. I am scared how much she charges. I really think it needs more work/direction. But to each their own.
