Thank you for this video. I am almost 60 and thought I was just traditional, but it seems I have a flare for glam. I love the sparkle, but I love rich colors, such as royal purple, fuchsia, bold reds, dark jade, rich corals, etc. I love brightness in my life. It keeps me sophisticated and young at heart. Your doing a wonderful job, just like your mom. I watch both of you constantly for ideas.
I just want to say your videos genuinely make me happy. Im currently going through a miscarriage, and watching your videos cheer me up. Theyre bubbly, bright, & brilliant, so refreshing!. Thank you 😊
I agree, Sharrah you’re easy to listen to and to watch . A lot of you tubers speed talk or tones of voice are higher pitch, you just seem like a regular person and that makes your channel and videos great! Thank you for not trying to overdue it.
I didn’t realize how much of the glam style I actually love... I LOVE anything marble, I love pink (I’ve grown to like pastel pink as I’ve gotten older), I love the faux fur, I love the shimmery, crystal accents. But from the other interior design style video, I love anything coastal/beach related or themed, plus a little bit traditional, and a little bit contemporary. After watching this video though, I’d say I’m more glam and coastal 😊
Love this! I'm currently trying to figure out how to mesh styles together. Farmhouse- glam-boho.. I love them all but I'm struggling lol. I'd love to see you do a video on meshing?!
That's what I do too... really not just one style. My place is a mix of French country, late Victorian, Paris glam, and industrial farmhouse, LOL. My basic rule is, fill your house with the things you love, and it will work.
Use Pinterest or google it helps to get ideas and you can see what other people use to mesh these styles. You can take images you like and put them on a document together and create a mood board to see how everything will look together and really get an idea of what you think would look good in your space
I think you'll find great inspiration by looking through French Country/Chateau decor, bc they do a lovely job of combining the cottage look of the farmhouse style with the romance of Parisian Chic's glamour. Avoid the animal motifs and checkered patterns to help it stay on theme, otherwise it'll clash with the gilded features of glam. Substitute glass vases for rattan basket weaves or enamelware to help ground the flashiness down a bit. Parisians do florals SO well - but you can still find softness & textures in Boho: pampas, lavender, bunny tails, succulents, etc. The metallics and reflective surfaces in Glam can look too busy and the excessively ornate furnishings can be a bit tacky. So rather than do silver, glass, mirrored surfaces, and crystals, respectively substitute them for brass, woods, matte surfaces, and light fixtures. Instead of flokati shag rugs, go for bamboo mats or faux fur/faux sherpa. The Glam aesthetic is supposed to look clean, but the overly white and grey color palette can feel cold, so warm it up with earthy neutrals and soft pastels like cream, beige, taupe, sand, camel, blush, peach, sage, mint, lilac, mauve, etc. Avoid too many reflective surfaces or too much glimmer & shimmer, by limiting the shiny details to gleaming metal accents like furniture legs/ handles/fixtures/frames. It also helps to focus on good lighting to create the clean brightening effect. Oh and please, no more diamond-shaped tufting lol. It's overdone to death, BUT I'm loving Glam's new direction in vertical channel tufting. It creates visual height and looks more modern. Leave the diamond-shape for your quilts. Personally, my taste is somewhere between Modern Parisian and French Nordic style. I love the combination of sleek 'Paris Luxury & Cosmopolitan flair' with the comforting 'Scandi, Wabi Sabi, and Minimalist Boho design'. Both sides are great at showcasing the bold classy lady and the delicate soft feminine.
I have a tiny Yorkie who just turned 13! He belonged to my brother and sister in law! When they both passed(within a year of each other) I adopted him! He’s very much a diva!!
Love love love the breakdown of this style and the visual in the stores. I would love to see more vlog style like this. It makes it simple for me to implement going decorating shopping for my home.
I like glam style for bedroom but Scandinavian or minimalist for living areas. It will be great if you can do video on how to mesh up different styles in house
Our princess Sheltie, Annibelle enjoys Farmhouse, boho, coastal with a kiss of glam... love the different videos, cause I take elements from them all!!
I just moved in 2 months ago to a new apartment and have been trying to incorporate the glam style...thanks to your video, I just realized that I have more of a layback or casual glam style, which is something I’ve been trying to figure out for months now 😊
I LOVE glam, but since I love interior design I'm also in love with so many other styles too. With 3 kids under 9 and a dog, glam is not always the easiest to maintain so I just do touches here and there. I have an 8 month whoodle (poodle and wheaton terrier). I love him to pieces but he has SO MUCH ENERGY! Can't wait until his 3 and hopefully a calmer version of himself lol.
Happy Birthday, Scout! My Maltipoo is between 7 and 9 years old, according to the animal hospital where I rescued her 3 years ago... so she's now 8ish. As far as personal decor style, I'm all over the board! I have an eclectic style in the traditional realm with some Georgian, Edwardian, Chippendale and French styled pieces, some heirloom antiques, as well as a touch of glam with light-colored textual fabrics, tufting, metallics, faceted crystal and cut glass... with a touch of doggie beds strategically placed here and there - lol!
I’m glam style with a bit of coastal. My dogs are the feline breed & we have 10 rescues!! All indoor & we love them tons! I love scout! If I had a dog, scout would be my choice!! 💖
Definitely glam and modern here. I didn’t know that’s my style but everything you said is what I have in my house. I just automatically drawn to what I like without trying to purposely decorate to a particular style.
Great video! I love the glam style but we do have all the furniture we need already. It's more practical than glam. Can you please make a video on glaming up a flat on a budget? 💕
Hey cathiabroad. Just thinking that you can add the glam elements through the accessories and soft furnishings. A faux fur rug, velvet throw pillows, a mirrored tray and metallic vase are some examples that come to mind. 😊
I have a maltipoo and she just turned 1. Happy Birthday to this gorgeous pup of yours. She's smart and so loved by you. Love seeing her in your videos.
We have a rescue Great Dane- Reba and she is 4, with the sweetest personality. Then we have a Shih Tzu- Maltese-Tarah-Bella, she is 6, with a bossy personality!! LOL. They both bring us lots of joy!!!
I would love to see one video where you go through each style and suggest specific stores (in person and online) to shop at for each style. Some stores would be repeated for multiple styles but I think it would be helpful.
Happy third birth anniversary Scout! ❤️ I have two Labrador Retrievers. Spartacus is black, big boned and will turn 10 this year. Zeus is cream coloured, super hyper and turned 3 last October. My design style is predominantly mid-century modern married to ethnic and eclectic.
Jo my little brown poodle will turn 4 in July. He always looks at Scout when I watch your videos on the tv. He is more or less the same size as the two white ones that were with your mom. He likes white decor, little confetti made of papers especially paper napkins. Organic white glam style.
*Sharrah! I NEED THIS! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the glam style!!!! You’re the sweetest & so helpful!! I found tons of glam for Christmas & had the best time doing that haul! 💕💕*
I love all the great ideas! I have a three-year-old miniature schnauzer named Jack. He’s the smartest sweetest and most lovable baby in the world 💕❤️😍😘
Sharrah, would love to see a spring/summer refresh using Pantone's 2019 color of the year (Living Coral). Home accessories, cushions, artwork, bedding, etc. Spring cleaning is just around the corner and I've noticed coral decor in some stores already. :) Bring on the warm weather!
I have a jack Russell/chihuahua as Well! She is roughly 18-19 (found on the side of the road when she was very young, in a box with her puppies) and still getting around. She’s basically deaf and nearly blind but she still walks miles around the house all day and night! We all love her dearly.
I have a sweet Toy Poodle and she answers to Maggie, Mag, Magpie, Mags and shes at the ripe young age of 17😉😃 and still happy and running around pretty healthy, just a little deaf and slightly near & far sighted, hey just like we all get. I love your beautiful dog Scout, she's adorable!
Happy birthday Scout !!! Foxy my Pom turns 12 in November and little Ms Chloe was 1 this past April! Love love love your tips and style descriptions - your inspirations are heart-warming
Lovely explained! Congrats to your dog. We sadly don't have a dog at the moment but I grew up with two. I am 100% not Glam Style 😅 and it looks very hard to maintain with all the shiny and bright elements. Also velvet is not easy to maintain. We are more a mix of natural elements, simple boho and two rooms have a mexican jungle theme. 🙈
Enjoyed your “Glam” video, love getting ideas. I have a pug/chihuahua who is 15 years old, partly blind but still has his hearing, wonderful temperament and likes to know where I am, so follows me around.
We have a pit bull named buster who is 11 months! He is around 80 pounds and runs behind my mom when he is afraid!! We also have a cat named Ollie who is turning 3 in February! He is the most snuggly cat I have ever met! They both love sleeping in bed and soft blankets 💕
