We can't retroactively add it to pens recorded a while ago, but have added it to bullpens with big leaguers in the past and some videos to be released soon. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8H6TmC4tXgs.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I1-CxhI40QA.html

We were taught all the wrong things back in the day: push off the rubber with the back leg, keep your arm up, don't aim it, just throw strikes, just worry about command- velocity will come.... 😑

Was really curious about his lower body mechanics? It seems like maybe there was still more to develop in the stride? Like most of the power war from the arm rather than the leg? But just never got the view to check

How much warm up do they do before throwing a 30pitch bullpen? And how many times a week are they throwing with full intent?
@treadathletics
@treadathletics 6 месяцев назад
When our athletes are in-house, most of them are on a two bullpen per week schedule. The days vary from athlete to athlete. The warmups also vary. Here are a couple examples: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Af8Sn24NRsQ.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7_ajJSP5nf4.html

I don't understand this. I played semipro baseball in the Bill Speros Allstars leagues out of Memphis Tenn in 69-72. I had a 96 MPH fastball at 16 years old. A fast 18" breaking curveball that would trigger the bailout out mode most batters only to break over the plate ,Another curve thrown straight at the plate that broke out of reach, The catcher would have to dive to his right to catch it. So you better have our signals down. A slow pitch curve about 75MPH or slower. And two speeds of knuclke balls. We knew very well the idea of how to set a batter for a slow pitch and mess with their timing. You throw consistant 96 MPH fastballs in the strike zone and you are aiding he batters blast them out of the park! I had catchers that could and did burn me out! from a squatting position simply throwing the ball back. OUCH!!BAM!! and the dust would fly off my glove.When they threw it to second base from a squat the ball would SIZZLE over my head! Some of those outfeilders could throw over the backstop from 400FT ?out. Some could hit the plate from 400ft out much the amazement of a nite crowd.Why?? Its all we ever did and some us had pitchbacks in the back yard, You throw that ball a few million times and you get good at it!!

Trying to throw harder is the best way to go slower.. passive front would help more.
@treadathletics
@treadathletics 7 месяцев назад
It's different for everyone. There are instance where increasing intent is an easy unlock for some pitchers, while others muscle up and disrupt their sequencing. It comes down to understanding how your athlete operates and cueing them appropriately.

@invisalats841
@invisalats841 8 месяцев назад
@FBZOMBlES if it worked the way you are implying, then every 6'4"+ pitcher would throw 99-100mph. Height actually gives an advantage in downward break and maintaining velocity of breaking pitches like the change up and curve. body motion plus arm action and release generates velocity. Height might allow you to throw 1-3mph faster on pitches up in the zone if you have a more overhanded arm action, but it isn't making it easy to throw 100mph. That requires great body control and snappiness in the arm and excellent release. Height is the least valuable factor in pitch speed followed by arm strength.
@FBZOMBlES

@@invisalats841 They do, look at the MLB. The fastest throwers are all 6’+.
