The Battle Of The Year has come a long way. Who would have thought that BOTY would go from starting out in 1990 in a local youth culture centre with 500 hard-core fans to an arena packed with more than 12,000 roaring spectators and b-boy crews from all over the world?
BOTY has grown massively - and we have slowly realised our vision of developing the spirit of breakdance and creating an international event platform that allows B-Boys and B-Girls from all different countries to express their creativity in front of an ever-growing audience.
BOTY 2014 was huge - and our aim is to keep it growing, evolving and pushing it to become the best Battle Of The Year we can possibly achieve, to once again prove that the event has earned its position as a pinnacle of the breaking and b-boying scene. Россияне были просто лучшие! Оценивается не только акробатика, где у корейцев был 1, максимум 2 человека хорошо выступили. Наши в большинстве хорошо все делали. Но также оценивается сам танец, чувство ритма, стиль и манера поведения согласно этой культуре брейк-данса и конечно же смелость. У корейцев ставка только на акробатику и то с перерывами, по остальным компонентам полный ноль. Но это же не гимнастика, а прежде всего танец и стиль. Судя по комментам не все это понимают. Россияне победили заслужено и с большим преимуществом! Поздравляю ребят!

I from west Moscow me my friends go to this year boty we still in hotel went to all after events also. Most people thought predatorz lost. Even in the circles there was problem with predatorz putting hands on people. And bboys in audience were notice predatorz bite signs and was saying predatorz and melting force most non original crews today

i don't understand it either why Predatorz won. They were good but they pushed TWICE. They should have been disqualified. Even in the circles they acted like Bullies trying to lay Hands on other BBoys. Predatorz are not B.Boys in my eyes but a bunch of Toys. Maybe Fusion MC didn't won because they made the same Routines and sets from last year.

A great battle both sides were dope. I'd have to give this one to Predatorz, they were well rounded and was feeling the music. Fusion MC had great tricks and routines but not much else.

Predatorz won? Really?!?!.. Fusion was way better and unique. Power moves with style. Predatorz also had to resort to pushing and kicking people. Not only did fusion seem like the better overall bboy team with no weaknesses, they were classy.

for your information: at the end of this battle, the bboy in orange/grey sweater from predatorz publicly apologized for what happened and it was not ment to go like that. personally i think fusion MC took this one but hey i'm not a judge with x amount of experience. IT WAS A GOOD EVENT, and i enjoyed it to the max. peace!

Predatorz clearly won, way stronger solos and clean, tight routines and they didn't slow down towards the end. Fusion's routines were sick and arguably better (would clearly be better if they were cleaner and they didn't fumble one) than Predatorz but they stole more time, slowed down, and their solos were very weak compared to Predatorz.

But the first predatorz guy solos both sucked and did not do much at all, compared to everyone else from both crews. Very weak solos.. Also Predatorz noticeably messed up in their duo routine too when when two of them were doing footwork right in front of fusion. Seemed like he forgot the footwork a bit then had to think to get right back into it

ryankbui Actually, just after I commented, I revisited that 5 major competition winning tear that Jinjo had, and Predatorz was indeed one of the crews that Jinjo steamrolled in that stretch. Although I will give Predatorz their due, they battled hard in that defeat.

I was trying to understand judge decision. I think that MAYBE Predatorz won because they had stronger solo rounds separated from routines. There were not enough strong solo responds for rounds from Botuz, Beatmaster freestyle, Jamal, that guy with diamond knees spin, and finally for really strong Gypsy power move. Fusion MC was so concentrated on routines that even when they were doing solo round it was cutted by routine, so solos where with no clear begging and end. From another hand Predatorz routines suck as hell especially comparing to Fusion MC, but I think people forget that battle is not only about routines, but especially about solos rounds, and maybe judges want to tell it to everybody by this decision.

I'd agree with you if this wasn't a full crew battle, 1v1 is different. A big point in full crew battles is the teamwork and if a crew can't respond well to your routine than you hit them again with a routine. If the other crew responds with a solo that's a sign of weakness.

Kanklesisgod All I've seen and practice threw the years was" If they had really strong solo, respond by routine"- it's totallyy different point of view than yours ,but many crews doin it in this way. From the other point bboying isnt "Step Up" the movie, were all battle looks like routines show, not real battle. If Predatorz won because of what I wrote in first comment it means that judges want to tell us" wake up! too much routines, lets go back to classic real bboying, we want see solo exchange" Im not suprised, because BOTY really started to be "bboy routines battle" year after year, and many people feel sick of it, and missing classic bboy battle times on this event.

oldskulE And of course it doesn't really means that I think Predatorz were better, Im just trying to find judges point of view, especially that I sometimes judging battles. Similar battle for me was BOTY final in 2000. Originality and fresh routines from Washeda Breakers side, and strong classic solos from Flying Steps side - Flying Steps won.

I am not a dancer, but my idea of talents is whatever act that successfully attracts or entertains us, a;though it is not even your interests. So, as an unqualified dance judge, i still say that the Korean should have won this final by a big margin. Sadly, it was the other way round. Can anybody explain this to me? Why did the Russians won? What is "original" about Predatorz? 1st set looks like copy of Poe One. 2nd set looks like typical UFO in beginning followed by bunch of moves bited from Hong 10 and Wing. 3rd set look like copy of Mounir. 4th set just looks like Killafornia routine followed by Toshiki's set with little footwork flava transition to it. 5th set is recycled copy version of TIP routines. 6th set is copy of Jinjo routine with added 90s in lotus style(prolly the only original move i've seen from this crew in this battle). 7th set is copy of Remind for topwork, Rainen for powermoves. 8th set is straight up bite copy of Morning of Owl members style and routines, ending with Last for One's routine finish. So wtf is "original" about Predatorz?

krnlegend LMFAO, you trolling eboy. If you think these guys are "original" then you have no knowledge of history of bboying or had never been into bboying scene in the past until this year. Go look up all the people I mentioned who Predatorz bited. All their routines, sets, are bited from the bboys I mentioned. If you think doing Drunken Master style is not copy of Morning of Owl, followed by Last for One routine finish by holding one guy upside down in Hong 10 airfreeze form and other guy flipping in the air to finish the routine is not a copy or a huge bite of Last for One, then you're obviously a troll who can't dispute properly against my statements. Simply look up Morning of Owl and Last for One. If my comment is not enough to validate their bites, want me to start posting every link of youtube video of the bboys I've mentioned who are doing routines, sets, signature moves that Predatorz are biting? You're an idiot and a blind troll. Lot of the moves Predatorz did in this event were VERY similar and copy to all the past bboys and crews I've mentioned who I used to follow. There's literally nothing "original" about Predatorz. Top 9 and AlltheMost are top Russian/Ukrainian crews with originality but Predatorz don't show anywhere near their levels.

I thought FUSION MC took it again but i don't know whats wrong with the BOTY judges.... Since 2003 the're PLAYING AROUND. 2002 Winner was EXPRESSION 2003 Final Battle EXPRESSION vs POCKEMON Winner: POCKEMON (in my eyes Expression was better) 2004 Winner was GAMBLER 2005 GAMBLER ranking 3rd place (Gambler was hard enough to win aigain) ..... 2013 winner FUSION MC 2014 FUSION MC 2nd place I think THE JUDGES don't wanna that some Crew takes the trophy twice or triple... Why not? They deserved it.

Pushing didn't knock them out so it's counted like a battle part, you know, it should happen for a show sometimes. Kick was planned, or that Korean would feel himself really bad. And FUSION MC lost because they did show instead of dance. Don't forget about it.

I've seen some guys saying "Predatorz wasn't original" lol like, seriously ?? I know Korea is always the BOTY favorite, but come on... Props to Predatorz, they deserve this!

Olga Nikolaevna Wow! many pair of eyes there and even on-line saw those Russians did nothing new. They did one thing new though that is never been seen. A reverse heel low blow. God if that moves automatically makes any team win, every dance move from bargain basement bboy teams that would incorporate that and they w would win! Ball guard sales would go off the roof! And it would baffle manufacturers because not sports people who buys them. Save everyone the trouble. Stop making gun shooting moves. Bring real guns. Shoot each other. both were sloppy. bad routines, a lot of mistakes. Fusion MC didn't have typical Korea's clean dope routines, lacked power moves compared to Russia. Russia's routines were even more boring than Korea's, shows no respect, and way too aggressive for no reason. Worst BOTY final I've watched.
