Kevin Richards+ you are 100% correct they replaced the transtar 2s the 4070bs I like them both my uncle John Gargon drove one of the 4070As back in 1969 he said it was a rough riding tractor this one here in the video is beautiful still like the transtar 4070As and Bs a little better
@@dennisbisconti4583 the 1980s were the good o days when there was a mix of cabover & conventional cab semis in service here in the USA. Today there's mostly conventional cabs in service which are cool too but I've always been a big fan of the cabovers ever since I was a little kid.
@@kevinrichards3288 + your right I am a model builder I like cars and trucks round 2 AMT just reissue the old Ertl transtar 4070A that kit was last in stores back in 1975 they were asking outrageous prices on these kits till they reissued them I got 4 of them at $61.00 dollars a pice that's a far cry from $300 to $1,000.00 dollars they were asking for the older kits have the transtar 2 eagle 🦅 as well great hobby
@@dennisbisconti4583 my favorite cabover semis are those Mack MH models that were produced back in the '80s. Dang I miss seeing those out on the roadways although the length limit was increased which made cabovers no longer needed to pull trailers that were over 40ft long. Today the only Mack cabover semis I see around are garbage trucks which are also cool.
And the people like that truck awesome God bless him and went to a truck place in the other people like it God bless him and his truck God bless me other people like the way it looks and everything God bless him and his family
Thanks for commenting and viewing my clip. In my opinion Volvo trucks do a good job , I just think they look ugly like all modern vehicles and the dashboard is the same as European models which to me suggests Volvo is a homogenized, globalist product, void of any unique, human, hand built qualities. They could make a million Volvos and they would all be the same. If you take for example Marmon trucks , which were all hand built , they have a class of there own which is noticeable immediately. Sadly though , they don't make them any more , they don't make anything like that anymore.
@@rjhtrucking5429 everything new is just crap, made to a budget, bits made to fail after a few years so you either buy a new one or spend money fixing them. Nothings built to last anymore. I don't know what it's like over there but over here they are bringing in clean air zones where wagons have to be euro 6 up or they have to pay to come in. Means loads of good old reliable kit is getting pulled off fleets and new shite stuff put in.
@@ThePhilBilly I know mate, they have similar emission regs in the states , California has a ban on older trucks so I couldn't take my Pete there. But tbh cali is a dump , it's like drive g in the UK, the car drivers are right wankers and there's shanty town enclaves under every overpass and grass embankment. I'm actually in the UK atm , I've been here 12 months twist lock jockeying. I'm going back to Canada in January and im really looking forward to getting back there. In Brum there's an 8 pound charge to drive my car through the town , it's a complete joke.
@@rjhtrucking5429 it's stupid isn't it! They are bringing it in to Newcastle and gateshead too. I won't be able to take my car in. I drive 8 legger tippers on the tar work on nights at the min too, the lad I drive for has 21 plate FM500 it's lovely to drive nicer than the scanias he has in my opinion but the lad who drives it in the day has already been through a turbo, a dpf problem because of the turbo and just today sent me a Snapchat of it in limp mode broken down because it had a leccy fault... (Tbf it does get driven hard by the other drivers but still)
Hey pal, theres a real nice 9670 for sale in Alberta, it has a tuned up big cam 500bhp. But personally, i have my eye on a pete 362 with an N14. So hopefully I might have something myself soon. I want to pull flat deck aswel, reefer is lazy work !
@@rjhtrucking5429 hahah! Man if you ever get you a cab over or another truck I think you should start doing some RU-vid videos, and I hope you do get a truck you want brother! The n-14 is a very reliable engine and will do whatever you want it to and then some. Be safe on the road man, crazy people who don’t know how to drive and think big rigs can stop on a dime 😂😂
O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 I have never heard a Volvo being called “Hideous” before. I AGREE! I’ve never been a Volvo lover at all. But you do drive a nice KW! Many trucks today are just cookie cutter trucks! There are very nice ones though! Cabovers Rule! Yeah, that’s how I feel. I even have a cabover & I love it. A new cabover is coming into my family soon. That was a sweet looking IH! Stretched out just nicely! So, is the IH better looking than the Volvo…YES! Thanks for sharing the joy! Have a great day my friend!🥰😎✌️
I run that Ole girl over the 11 western here in the states back and forth to Denver Colorado every week for awhile she's sitting at the yard wanna freshen her up and run her again ......
