@hmalik to say there is nothing wrong with drugs is far fetched, I personally think yes weed should be legal as if alcohol is then why not that as its not as dangerous! Although to say there is no side affects is absurd, I have stopped smoking and yes there can be rough withdrawal's from it, weed can make young people sit about thinking being board and doing nothing is completely fine, i've met a lot of people watched a lot of stuff where people would say that those years being a stoner were wasted years and before you say "well you should have had better self control" well weed is addictive to some people, it affects people differently and it is a drug!

David is PROPER old school😄 He reminds me of various characters like the Count of Montecristo, the Scarlet Pimpernel, Lawrence of Arabia and Ronnie Kray with a touch of that general thing that well-bred people have that reminds me of kids leaving school and either working for Reuters as Pa's best friend is CEO there - or else travel to South America for Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and Rio with a bit of ayahuasca to make it more "authentic". I do find the routes the posher boys take to the underworld quite interesting - I suppose it's partly as I like to compare them with my own! Inevitably with these interviews, though, I am left with more questions than answers. For starters, packing a radio with ganja? I mean the smell alone must have been intense! And how anyone who's been stopped their first time by a customs officer who knows what he's got but let's it through, even being young, dumb and filled with braggadocio like an 18th Century youth on the Grand Tour, you're surely not for a second gonna think "I'm the greatest smuggler!!!" You're gonna hyperventilate for about 20 minutes, then you're gonna shake like a leaf for a couple of hours and however irreligious you are, you'll be on your knees the whole of the next day offering . So far we've had Australia, Britain, Thailand and India - I'm already twitching to find out what scrapes with the Triads or whoever he gets into before filing through those bars! It's like a Boys' Own adventure. Have to say, as the world creeps further and further towards standardisation, it's always a relief to chance upon someone who does things a little differently!

Reminds me of my Irish grandpa. He smuggled liquor from Canada to Kelly Islands, Ohio. He had retired by the time I came along. He was a vaudeville singer in his younger days, grandma played piano. Oh, the parties they had!

@David McMillan Can‘t remember when I was impressed by the quality of storytelling as I am right now. My heart would actually say ‚go for it‘ because you truly have charisma. Sadly enough my head says ‚no‘ because your job has terminated or at least deeply affected many peoples lives. This is no Robin Hood crime this is way worse. Sad because deep down inside I‘m sure you‘re a good person.

I was a mule. Between Holland and Ireland. There was a global drought of heroin. Where I got the balls, I still don't know. Fuck me, I was cool as a cucumber going through one of the most secure airports in the world, Schiphol... Eindhoven, too. The risks I took were foolish and unnecessary. My family now know how I was able to pay my mother's mortgage out of the blue. Thankfully, my life took a complete 180° turn not long after. I'm proud of how I turned my life around.

No, it comes from having to understand and interact with many different walks of life in the type of "work" he was doing. Careful selection of words matched with a tone that indicates an understanding of what is being said as it comes out is a particularly useful trait for what he did. Whether or not he had this ability before advancing in his profession matters not as you can guarentee he honed said skill further along the way.
