You are just a true hero and gentleman Warren. You really care about your customers of yours. Only few mechanics will do jobs like you are doing to a fair price... guess most mechanicks will just tell the truck owner to buy a new truck. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge.

Its amazing how a second pair of hands to do donkey work like that really helps the outcome. Being able to cobble together whatever it takes is critical to a successful outcome.
A friend of mine used to work for the local county school bus shop in North Ga he knows them Dt466's inside and out but he still to this day refers to them as a DogTurd466
trials and tribulations , it is all the same , but a little different ! Warren is the man to figure the issues out ! Scratches his head , taps a wrench and then he has an Idea!! great video , shows lots of confidence for others to try and solve issues.

Great work young man! When it comes to swapping engines or doing conversions things go wrong, stuff is different and faults get found. All those things ca add up to anger, frustration and tempers flaring. But once again you showed your grit and mettle and got the win by making it all work. I doff my cap to you from cold old England!
This job in the shop is one thing, miles from home is something else, especially given all the faffing around requirements. You're brave Warren and certainly have a sense of humour!

Man talk about an episode of "Monster Garage, the lost Warren episodes". I hear you about the Internationals being a pain to work on. The shop I was wrenching at had four of them used as rolling deck trucks, what a pain in the behind. Well it's running, you can still wiggle your fingers and toes so it's all good. One of the shops I used to work at was an International service center, which generally meant the dealers sent us all the shitty jobs they didn’t want to mess with. Particularly valve adjustments on DT530’s.
I thought u would have test fit the engine and then pull back out put the trans back on and put the whole thing in. But it must have been more difficult to do it that way. Anyways great job Warren and awesome work 😀😁
The shop conditions have improved, plywood sheets on top of gravel. When you look up shade tree mechanic I think you will see a picture of Warren, I always thought it would be my dad. Warren could work on anything anywhere.
Seems like all engine swaps have bugs to work out between series, models and years. I remember working on a 1973 Ford pinto wagon I got for $10 bucks, had a 2000cc German motor and a 1973 only rack & Pinion steering rack that kept breaking tie rod end socket springs on the rack, all in the recycling yards had same fault. Changed head gasket and carb was just shaking loose on the manifold. I was broke and needed a ride it served me well for two years. Learned how to some body work on it also. Ran great with a 4spd manual.
I've never been a fan of installing a used engine, It seems the cost of a reman and a used engine form a different app cancel each other out unless they came from same application.. I've been around Int trucks all my life, Have a B160 from the 60's That run's like a top , a 4900 series and a8100 , always thought they were not as bad as chevy gm or ford in same app, I realize your used to working on heavier duty trucks, Good work Warren
Warren i have found it is easier to install or remove any engine it you use a comealong from hook to back of engine so you can get the right angle. Back of engine up or down .
What a job!!! What a feeling of success you must feel!!! Out of the 100 mechanics that could do that job, 98 of them would have quit at the first problem. The real lucky ones are your customers!! They better not make you wait to get paid!!!! Great Job!!!
Looks like you could have mounted the alternator on the back of the bracket on the engine pushing it back a little. The you could have put 2 belts on the AC Compressor.
yes the older internationals are tough. I am updating to 2001 kw t300. Good move or not? I like the newer truck more comfort. more power, more gears. kind of sad to let the old one go.
I did this to my 84 service truck. engine came out of a cab over. I had to change the entire front cover and plate. after watching yours I am wondering what way was best. yours seems easier but you did not have a 3 inch thick wall pipe bumper with 1/4 inch diamond plate welded on bumper. I dislike it when guys weld things on instead of drilling 4 bolt holes and mounting it.
Hi. So swaping out and installing another engine is not that complicated. Correct me if im wrong. Ive done ford 4.6. 5.4 engine removal so so I think I should be able. To tackle this job.
The gentleman that showed up and helped, I am guessing that’s not the first trans he has stabbed without a lift. I always thought the S series, 4800 and 4900’s were not too bad to work on. I guess that could be because CalTrans had tons of them and I got use to them.
I honestly don’t know how international is still in business. Between the VT 365, maxforce 7,maxforce DT, and the big bore maxforce. Wow! That being said I will say now that you can get a Cummins in the ic bus, they are pretty nice.
