The Garrett tractor was awesome to see. My great grandfather was Dwight Garrett, the maker of that machine. Awesome to see his inventions still in action. I’ve worked in his parts building moving old parts around, and all the parts he used were super high quality. It’s nice to see something I’ve never seen from him, he mostly is known for his logging skidders here in Washington, and was a big part of the logging boom here in the 1960s.

Saw the Garret tractor while visiting Auburn, WA. It was parked by the roadside under the awning of an old abandoned gas station. We stopped and crawled all over it. Quite a unique piece of engineering. Glad to hear it actually was a working tractor, not just some concoction for show. Doubt you'd want to try to start one of those diesels with that crank on the front of the tractors.

I've seen this model tractor parked in front of Garrett equipment. Dwight Garrett, from Enumclaw Washington. His company is also famous for skidders used in the logging industry. a legend here in town.

Very nice work. Its truly a shame that the generation of Harry probably forgot more than we will ever know. That generation was when a man and his tools and thoughts could produce a product that would stand the test of time. Instead, today its IPhones and computers and cars that park themselves. Great video and hopefully someone close to him was able to gain his knowledge and continue his era of craftsmanship...be blessed.

Nice tractors. I just can't believe what he did with them. I love Internationals. At an old state hospital I once worked at, we had a few Internationals, including a 444, a 460, a 504, and a 706. All worked great and often saw daily use into the early 2000's, though they were from the 60's and early 70's. Say what you will about state workers, but many of them loved the machines that they depended on. The hospital has since closed, but I hope some one has taken the old tractors in and put them back to work. We also had a Cub from 1971 or so that still ran nearly as well as it did off the assembly line.

To think, it farmed for 30 years! Long before the era of articulated AWD tractors, too! Also, having only non v-grooved turf tires, it must not have been used for plowing as turf tires can't bore directly into topsoil.
