On your leaf blower check the hose in the tank cause it could be split or broke inside just enough to cause priming issue and running too

You can buy new balls and probably the complete check valve online I’ve heard of people lapping in the seat on ball valve set ups you might check into something to help seal the valve up so fuel doesn’t drain back so fast I believe that is why you have to crank it several times after you fixed all the other things that was wrong I believe that is the last thing you need to fix

I just realized, Chad, you don't have an intro 'stinger' for this channel yet!! Oh I hope you come up with one, unless you're just not going to do anything like that for this channel. It stinks RU-vid does things the way they do, that you can't just have your channel, upload whatever you have whenever you want to and make money as you should. I've told all my friends to come see both your channels, I really hope you stay here with us for a while and hit it big, I think you will, Chad, it takes time and your first channel blew up FAST, but looking at 6,000 subscribers almost here, that's GREAT for only a few weeks old!! Excellent video Chad on International 3 to 5 hp talk to one Senior used those motor also said on threads of Spark plugs put thin layer of Die Electric or Grease to and use no % Ethonal gas of 91 octane or higher octane in to plus bottle of fuel injection or carb cleaner ! Back in 1930 to 1970 put some Rubbing Alcohol in fuel because high octane was hard get to but sometimes try in Winters Season too when the 91 octane was available put gasoline antifreeze to fuel or sniff Laugh Gas (Ether) ! Plus say Hot Spark plugs help .25 foul help to gap too ! That International truck gas squirt out top flaps and sounds like intake gasket leak and choke also float sticking on ! Excellent working on small engines of Chainsaw and Leaf Blower ! At first Leaf Blower tilt thought maybe fuel cutting off switch Chad and you explained to why !

I’m pretty sure you need a need check ball assembly with the new plug. That’s why when she does fire up it takes a few seconds to clear up because it takes that time to get consistent fuel flow with RPM climb. Thank you Mr Chad

Use a inline check valve from a chainsaw to replace the tank union check valve...if check valve is leaky it won't draw a prime when using starting procedure..

Hi Chad, after working on the check valve, which is essential to the fuel system, you said it is still leaking but you would try it! I think you should sort it properly

Sometimes I wish i was closer to ya down there. It would just be cool to hang out where 1 day a million year old engine is gettin some attention and then an old international farm truck shows up to play with. That seems like so much fun! And pain. But mostly fun😂!

At 63 years young all I know is those old thumbreakers, they just seamed to know you were going to make them work long and hard, and they just wanted you to share the pain, also don't grab the fly handle with your thumb over the wood handle or if it kicks back it will break your thumb, so keep all your fingers and thumb together or she will have her revenge, the young folks were always the old farmers starter, just keep going you nearly had it that time, was all you heard while the played with the controls, wisdom truly comes with age. I hated those old so and sose and was the happiest youth when the electric starter became affordable.

A lot of work to get the engine running. Have you thought about doing the back and forth with the flywheel 4 or 5 times fairly fast to keep the gas up towards the combustion chamber so it starts sooner? I like this channel with the extry things you do.

I have said it before. You work on all kinds of different junk. We all have it at home or in the garage and what to get them going but no idea. The fact ur working on so many odd ball and common things is amazing and gives us all incite on how to fix our junk. lol

so give my two cents one suck bang blow so you were saying now back in days the did have primer blubs in differnt ways oil cups is term i use now days its zerks any way air fuel compression rings walls of cylider day to day use cast metal expands and contracts sleeves were better water seperater inline air not cold or hot so used fans or blower hell lots use torch control preheat gas washing walls not useing either lead gas 93 vs race gas homemade and flashpoint on volitilitey new gas not thier all ethonal 10-15% makes suger suger clogges everything lke you sa water to cool them lots was skin cat means lots ways make it more dependable

That's the internal combustion engine at its most elemental. And possibly at its most frustrating. Good on you for sticking with it and getting it running.

I work in the oilfield here in Nebraska and we have a few propane arrow engines I know what you are going through try fighting with one when it's 10 below yeah it sucks

I think the magnetic is weak and it doesn't generate enough electricity for the spark plug .

Put one of those plastic wire sheath over the coil wire at the spark plug maybe it's arching off onto the valves

I quit using gasoline and started using true fuel. And never had another carburetor issue. It's the alcohol in the fuel that eats up the rubber.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that buys parts and caint remember where I put them when it comes time to repair whatever it was I bought the parts for.

this n that extry the blower i had one just like that it had the same issue always but was hard to start some times wouldnt rev and i did exactly what you mentioned after three years of struggling with the thing (yeah im cheap) i gave that thing a fling

I think you need to make some steps with the amount of times you climbed up and down on that press. Good work

Try putting the fuel tank above the carburettor.

The magneto might need re magnetising to that will create a weak spark under compression

Also if you move it around like that and it stops check the clunk on the end of the fuel pipe in the fuel tank hasn't got stuck or fallen off

Why don't you crank it over with the big blue pulley

I believe it all can be contribute to the sorry gas. High octane racing fuel may help

We push in on the intake valve and hold it open to shut the engine off. Don’t turn the gas.

I’ve lived my whole life in the rural South and have eaten my weight in molasses but until your video I’ve never seen it made. I’m sure homemade molasses is better than the store bought stuff. That engine needs an air starter off an old Detroit Diesel 2-stroke engine. Pulling on that handle is a young man’s job.

If you're check valve is not Working right then you're losing prime and you got to get that prime backup in order to get it running see if you can find a new check valve so that it keeps the fuel primed

Sounds like the blower needs new lines and in tank fuel filter. Usually when you tilt it and it does it's not sucking fuel... I've never heard of the crank seals causing that particular problem,, usually bad crank seals cause the problem of the carburetor setting not staying set right because it's sucking air around those seals and not through the carburetor like it's supposed to... Thus causing mixture issues. Another thing that can cause it to die when tilted is a PINHOLE IN THE FUEL LINE. REPLACE THE LINES AND FILTER AND SEE IF IT DOESN'T CURE THAT ISSUE... NEVER GIVE UP ON SOMETHING LIKE THAT,, IF YOU CAN'T GETTER GOING BRING IT TO ME AND I'LL GET IT WORKING FER YA..... I DON'T CHARGE VERY MUCH AT ALL.

My opinion on the old engine is as follows,, I believe the timing is still off,, it needs to trip at tdc or a hair past whilst starting it,, if it kicks back with that starting handle design it probably won't hurt you, that's why it's designed that way,, if everything is right that old engine shouldn't take that much to start! Also check the valve clearance too.that folding starter handle is made to keep from hurting you if it kicks back. I've felt with a lot of those"TYPE" engines for many years.... Anyway those are my thoughts...

Chad- I have one of those Intl LB engines and it acts about the same as that one. One thing I would recommend is don't use the mixture control to shut it off. When you do that you are drying all the fuel out of the intake and that makes it harder to start later. I know it doesn't sound right, but that has made a big difference in the way mine starts, especially when just starting it a few minutes/hours later. Mine has a kill switch on the mag. If yours doesn't, pull the plug wire. Also, the mixer is made of pot metal and you will wear the threads for the mixture control out faster. Those mixers are hard to come by. Love the videos!
