The first couple minutes have my cows in the background with they’re bells jingling. It goes away and is replaced with music.

I love looking through these old IH brochures. It's like looking through the old Sear-Roebuck catalogs...you want everything!

Isn’t it though? I miss the Sears Farm & Ranch and their tool catalogs that Dad used to get. Imagine taking your tractor in for a winter overhaul and they’d thrown in a paint job to sweeten the pot

@@LedgemereHeritageFarm I saw that! I bet these tractor companies today wouldn't do that. I remember going with Daddy to the IH dealer when I was growing up. They would give me a ball cap. Now you buy them.

@@MarkWYoung-ky4uc they would give me a matchbox sized tractor even in the late 70s when I was a kid. The dealerships now barely know how to work on their new equipment, never mind painting it too! I think they struggle to find competent mechanics because they’ll hire brand new kids off the street and pay them almost what the old guys get just to bring them in the door. John Deere and Kubota have prices the deli right out of the market for folks like me

I really enjoyed the video ! I'm kinda surprised my grandpa never had any 100 series tractors because he had a bunch of tractors before and after the 100 series .I bet he had well over 20 different tractors most had one certain job or just set in a barn ready to go . I remember the last new tractor he bought was a John Deere because he was mad that they went to Case IH . Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day !

I don’t see a lot of those hundred series around really. My uncle went from a JD H to an 8N to an international 340 and then 504. He got a ford 4500 and a Farmall 706. They started buying John Deere’s in the 1970s, but still have a half dozen 504 tractors in various condition

My personal feeling about Farmall IHC, the "M" and "Super M" along with the '06, 56', '66 and '86 series were the best made. As for JD, the 2 cylinder, '20 & '30 series along with the "Next Gen's" were also among the best. This is when they were all metal, no plastic, very little in electronics like today stuff. Miss these old tractors. Great video. Cheers :)

It's to argue with Farmall in these early days, but we were always an Oliver family :)

My understanding is that slow selling Super W-4 was replaced by the fast selling H 300 Utility. Big end of the range was the "9" series (W-9 etc.) which were only built as Standard Tread tractors. They had a separate history to the smaller Farmall models. There was originally a W-9 and a WD-9 diesel- both 335 c.i. The Super WD-9 (350 c.i.) replaced the WD-9 but there was no Super W-9. Strangely IH offered a gasoline rice-field model called the WR-9S (335 c.i.) which equated to the Super WD-9 wheatland model. In the "100" series Super WD-9 was updated as the short lived International 600. The International 650 replaced the 600. The 650 was the first in this lineage to receive an LPG fuel option. The 600 and 650 never had a Fast Hitch option or Torque Amplifier option. The very different International 660 that replaced the 650 received 😀these options.

Thanks again for the great trip down memory lane. Where did you obtain all these great brochures and advertising materials?

I’ve been collecting junk since I was little. Every time we went to a dealership or an ag show, I hauled home bags of it. I’m probably going to eBay most of it this winter. It’s fun to look at, but I think I’m ready to part with it. I sold off all my vintage John Deere lawn and garden material last winter and made a mint. Who would know a John Deere patio tractor brochure would fetch over $100???

This is a great video from an informational standpoint, you really know your stuff. But, and this is HUGE! Slow down, this is not a race. Much of your info is missed due to talking too fast and quick editing. An even bigger problem is the background noise. The cowbells are extremely distracting and they drown out your voice. Pay attention to your surroundings before you shoot video. Choose locations wisely, plan ahead. You don’t want background noises or activities distracting the video or drowning out the audio. I truly wish you could reshoot the whole video in a quiet location, without background music/ or cow bells and possibly add some “flow charts” to illustrate the lineage of the models and how they relate to eachother.

Your knowledge of these tractors is unmatched. I own and have had a 100 in my life since I was born in 1967. It's still a working tractor to this day! (9/6/2023)
