I just got a new to me 1966 140. I was told it hadn't been started for 6-8 years. After about a day and a half I was able to get it running. You're right in the fact that there's not much sweeter sound than hearing them run for the first time in long time. Keep up the good work.
Lol sorry for taking so long, work has been ridiculous and interfering with my tractor time! I repaired the crack in the top of the radiator earlier today, next video of her will be testing all the gears and the t/a!

Always a great feeling when one cackles to life after being apart! I'm looking for a head for my 450 currently, be awhile before it comes back to life. I bought a new set of 16.9's for the 450 and a set of 14.9's for the 400. Now to get the tractors back up and going!
During the initial cranking, I could hear what sounded possibly like a bit of a valve hang, not sure if it was coming from exhaust or intake... Replay this video during your initial cranking and you will hear It.
@@bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335 naw,,, it's a sort of a "huffing" sound that is heard during one cylinders compression stroke. Listen again & you will hear it... It doesn't sound like a major leak, & it's likely that it could clear up on its own. Best wishes!
That power steering does not have slop in it. That is the way that torque motor works when it is running oil pressure applied to that torque motor will eliminate what you think is play there. That's how it gets power steering
I've got a 450 myself that needs restoration. See you have an M&W governor. But your intake/exhaust manifold isn't correct for a 450 thats the older M manifold. Does the tractor have the C-281 engine block casting?
Yeah someone replaced the exhaust manifold with this one before I got it but yeah its stamped C-281 The technical original was a 3 rib design on some but 90% of the replacements are like the style thats on there now. An lp version can be used, which can add a tad of power as well!
