In Part 2 of this short series, filmmaker Alison Langley captures the mood of International One Design (IOD) racing in Maine, and highlights the John Williams Boat Co. crew that cares for many of these classic sailboats.
The IOD class was designed by Corny Shields in 1937 and built by Bjarn Aas in Norway. In 1938, 14 boats were delivered to Northeast Harbor, Maine.Today there are 27 IODs in the Northeast Harbor Fleet, most of which are actively racing every summer.
John Williams Boat Company is proud to store and maintain several of these boats at our yard in Hall Quarry, Mount Desert Island. Learn more at www.jwboatco.com/
