The original 30 minutes extension from BrawlBRSTMs3 X's channel. Yup, I had it this whole time, and I'm about to share it with everyone. This is the best 3DS theme by far, Nothing compares to this.
If I could add one feature to the Nintendo Switch, it would be music to all of the applications that feel completely lifeless without it. The menu is fine, but the shop is a good example.
@@legoshiishot It’s really not. Not to mention, you pay a whopping $300 just for the 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙚 to access the absolute waste of time that is the Nintendo switch e shop, then another $60-$120 for some games. Idk…switch just feels overhyped. It’s ok as a console handheld hybrid, but once you start to compare it to the 3ds, everything falls apart.
@@SanicConnoisseur_91 That's more of the console experience, the games are absolutely incredible, although the recent trend we've been seeing as more and more games are being released with lacking content that's added later through free updates. As a console it is complete, and it gets the job done. However, as a "Nintendo Console" it lacks all of the little intricacies that made nintendo nintendo, tons of apps to showcase the systems features, just doodling over pictures, and shopping. They made shopping one of the most exciting experiences ever with the way everything was presented. I think most of this is due to Iwata's passing and his influence on the finished product isn't here anymore, the things he pushed for when he was here aren't much of a priority anymore It seems. :( I do hope things start changing for the better with Nintendo, even if it seems impossible.
The 3DS era really felt like the last time Nintendo felt like "Nintendo", where they were creative with their advertisements, absolutely cared for their older fans by expanding their virtual console on it while limiting some sections if you didnt have the new 3ds, and overall gave the 3ds so much personality and life with how many tools and apps they gave it compared to something like the DSi. I'll never forget when I went to a best buy to buy a blue og 3ds with my mama. Just want to go back to the early 2010's man...
Same man. I miss when (most) video game companies weren't so soulless and money driven. Back when consoles and games were designed with love and care, not just aiming to fulfill the basic status quo. Back when companies didn't use predatory monetization tactics like microtransactions to suck every last penny out of players. But, at least we got to experience the best of gaming before everything went downhill, y'know?
I couldn't have said it any better myself. Things stopped truly feeling "new" when the 3ds era came to an end. Nothing has the same level of uniqueness to it anymore and it's in part because these widely loved creative corners were cut.
I still use my 3ds fairly often. I will never give this baby up until the day I die. I love the 3ds! I miss everything about this system, from the application music to the themes, and the really cool applications that came with the 3ds when you purchase one. It was such an amazing time and I feel sorry for those who missed out on an amazing experience like this. I couldn't tell you how many hours I spent playing on my 3ds as a kid. The 3ds means the whole world to me and it will always be a part of my childhood that I'll never forget! It's really sad that the eShop is shutting down soon. It makes me wish they would keep it open with the switch eShop :(.
this is all so relatable, my 3ds was such a big part of my childhood and i cant believe how long its been since it came out. i miss it too and the eshop shutting down makes it even more sad :(
Same, hearing that the eShop was closing was like a huge punch in the gut for me :(. But it's still a great console with great games! I'll for sure still be playing mine as well, long after the shop's gone
i'm sick of the disrespect the wii u has recieved, the backwards compatability was insane on the wii u, the atmosphere was fun and energetic and the wii feels return, as well as it being very sociable with miiverse, at least acknowledge the wii u
@@johnleecolon2339 everybody says the same thing , life was better in the past, I really going to tell you that the people of the past would say the same thing
@@OneClick2go Tbh yeah, nowadays we're all too dependent on the internet and obsessed with social media. Remember what happened when Facebook and a few others went down for a few hours? We take the interconnectedness for granted and most would be lost without it, I think.
I originally had a 2DS in 2014 and had a blast. I did some factory resets and heard this banger each time. In 2017, my 2DS was bricked due to a bad battery. I recently got a New Nintendo 2DS XL to play Animal Crossing, and after being used to lifeless setups like Switch and Win 10, I was shocked hearing this song during connection with internet. The 3DS had so much personality, and now companies no longer care about personality, only money, leaving there own logos and products to be bland and lifeless. I will forever cherish this console. Btw, this comment section is kinda epic, ngl
@@vicentecardenas4958 I thought the Switch was going to be the 4DS or something but instead it has a boring OS. I had a feeling it would as soon as Iwata died and Reggie left that was two double whammies.
@@prayagsuthar9856 For you and a lot of people, yes it can be headache-inducing. I lucked out and is fine using the 3D, and apparantly the New 3DS improved the 3D effect to be more comfortable.
I love it when these music tracks make me feel old. I got my 3DS on christmas 2011 and i still have it, haven't used it since i moved out. Now I'm concidering it
Same. I remember when I looked as far back into my 3DS history, and the date it went back to was 2011. To think that the console is now 11 or 12 years old and is considered obsolete is so sad! I used mine so much
I've been listening to this with my headphones for the last ten minutes, tapping my feet to the rhythm while browsing some webpages. It's a great background music.
I’m using this music to write notes and study for college. Every now and then I’ll remember the multitude of hours I spent playing Tomodachi Life and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team as a kid.
Nah the 3ds was better than the switch. I sunk more time into Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D than I did with some switch games. I mean the switch is ok but it's cluttered with shovelware games and there's legit just plain silence on the music which is why i pick a game faster than normal.
@@smiley1722 thats subjective nintendo switch has so many games on it especially old jrpgs that were exclusively tv only. it has games that were on wii like mario galaxy games from gamecube like mario sunshine. will soon have every final fantasy on it except 13 and 15. sooo much to offer it's really crazy tbh. i love my 3ds but tbh only games i played on 3ds were my old ds games and nintendo only 3ds games. 3ds didnt have a library as crazy as switch does.
3DS: Okay, we got themes, unique musics, a camera, sound recorder, activity log (which I happened to really like), and comes with free games, (and a 3D feature, but hardly anyone really used that) Switch: You can play on the go OR hook it up to the TV GBA & GCN: That sounds familiar
Wow! Brings back so many good memories. I remember the first time setting up my Internet Connection manually and my OG Aqua Blue 3DS having a hard time picking up the modem's signal since my Internet was so mediocre at best! :) Time flies...
Hard to believe it's already been over a decade since the 3DS came to be. I've been through several consoles since the original and I still have the Game Boy Advance games that were part of that ambassador program they did back then. The days when me and strangers I didn't even know too well would send each other doodles on the daily through Swapnote, we'd have a few rounds of Mario Kart, then 2014 rolled around and we'd have Smash Bros nights thrown in. Every screenshot, every recording, every blurry picture of people...man, those were the days. Also it is my firm personal belief that when Iwata passed, a lot of Nintendo's charm passed with him. In a lot of ways we don't get stuff like this anymore, or if we do it just doesn't have the same appeal.
I still have a 3DS to this day, here's a backstory to when I was only 8-10 years old: I'd reset my Nintendo 3DS for fun at least 10 times and listening to this song trying to figure out the password for the Wifi at home was actually quite soothing. As a 16 year old teen who browses things like this, now this brings back so many memories from doing all of these factory resets on the 3DS for no reason
The switch essentially was trying new things. It's just that they didn't wanna spend the extra time adding all the fun stuff on a failed console. Here's to the hope that they bring all those fun uis and lovely music back with their next console.
Not really. The switch basically invented a new type of console. It's a super innovative machine, and the fact that it could play PS3/360 level graphics on such a small and thin device, with good battery life, was insane. The switch has a nice snappy and clean UI too, and the games are good. What kills me is that the online services are shit, there's no themes or music, and no internet browser. That's the part that sucks
@@Ferrichrome PS4 and base Xbox 1 quality games would be far more accurate. The switch is very weak and outdated chip but far more modern architecture with newer features than even the PS4 and Xbox 1 which give it a small advantage in some area of ports for games like Doom 2016. Meanwhile you can buy a budget android phone and play Playstation games on it nowadays
@@Ferrichrome you could argue the more power plus portability is what constitutes a new type of console with portable downgrade versions being much less downgraded nowadays with Switch but there's also an argument to be made for gaming laptops. And portable video game consoles have been able to plug into TV's for a very long time. PS Vita was pretty powerful at the time it existed. Even the GameBoy could be plugged into the TV for 4 player Co Op in some games, something that didn't work when not plugged in. Fun fact the DS had free online voice chat in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl when you were playing with friends. The real downgrade nowadays is that we have to pay for online when servers cost not nearly as much as they charge and modern Steam and old consoles prove it can be done and Steam proves better for free
Ok, nostalgia clearly doesn't have anything to do with it. The 3DS was objectively superior when it came to charm and personality. The Switch has some banger games, but the console itself could NOT be more lifeless.
The Switch absolutely needs to bring back menu music someday. The menu feels relatively empty and lifeless with this silence and the lack of color themes doesn’t help. Corporate minimalism is a serious problem nowadays.
Hearing this song when you're at a hotel/airport trying to figure out exactly how to connect was honestly one of those moments where life just didn't feel real. God, I miss the 3DS.
I love how people are posting their own experiences with the 3ds here. It reminds me of the checkpoints people used to make on that old Donkey Kong video
I remember this music, around 2014 me and my family went to a swamp meet and there was a stand with a bunch of electronics, and I saw the Nintendo 3ds, It was a red, black, and white one, I told my parents about and they bought it for me and boy did I use it until it would leave white marks on the A button due to all the times I pressed on it hard, it would fall a bunch of times but it still survived, me and my sisters would take pictures on it and I still have them…😔😔 man I miss those days when I was young I would play on it everyday and night. I would even hide it under my pillow when it was time to sleep, but sadly it stop working ☹️ it would still turn on but once I tried playing games on it the screen would freeze I was so sad 😭 but all goods come to an end. It’s been 8 years since I last touched it,seen it, I still have it with me but I lost my charger. I miss those good old days, I’m actually tearing up right now.😭😭😭😭
Just yesterday I found out if you blow into the microphone to make the system settings screen spin, on the back side of the 5 icons the little internet friend is there. It was so cute, the amount of love they put into designing the 3ds software, even for the smallest things like that, it was so heartwarming to see
I feel so lucky to have been in High School in the 3ds' heyday. Streetpass everyone going from classes, using mii's for the minigame. Not to mention all this glorious music
EDIT: Okay its been 6 months and I've been putting this off for ages, people keep telling me that the 3DS had paid DLC and that I'm a liar, but frankly none of the games I plaid offered DLC aside from maybe Animal Crossing NL, but that was near the end of the 3DS' life when Nintendo was already changing to be like every other game company. The rest of my points still stand. Oh and if you're wondering, I did get my 3DS fixed. Happy days. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 3DS will ALWAYS be better than the Switch imo. Actual portability, no paid DLC, no paid online services, tons of little apps that you'd spend way too much time on even though you had actual games to play, and details like this. They didn't have to put catchy music on the Internet settings screen, just like how they didn't have to make a cute little animation for the eShop downloads, or make it so when you blow on the mic the top icon for the game that you had in your 3DS would spin around, but they did it anyways. My New 3DS doesn't turn on anymore. I'm planning on getting it repaired soon, fingers crossed they succeed. It just kills me to think that all of those memories would be lost forever.
if you have an sd card in your 3ds and it stuff doesnt work after the repair, you can buy a new one and put the sd card from the old one into the new one and all of your stuff should be saved
The Switch is great don’t get me wrong but something’s missing. Something’s different about Nintendo. They’re no longer the company I fell in love with over the past 3 console generations. They used to be bolder, more different, less corporate. From the GameCube to the Wii U their consoles regardless of how good or bad they were had an unmistakable identity. Little things like this were proof of it.
Yeah they care about money now just like other companies even though they could be putting out music for the switch, reviving the 3ds, and stuff but Ohhh NO they have to screw it all up. It's like 1 in the morning rn and I'm getting mad at Nintendo hoping they revive the 3ds because I've played it more times than my switch. Like on Mario maker it says I've played it almost 100 times
It took me like 8 years to realize that I need to go into the settings to set up the internet on my 3ds. I have no clue how I never figured this out earlier
Man. Ever since Iwata passed, Nintendo just hasn't been the same. Everything about the 3DS and the Wii U (to some extent), had this larger than life performance to give to players right off the bat. It had more personality over the formal appearance of the Playstation and Xbox and their way of introducing the consumer to the console, up until the Switch came out and now it's just black and white and has little to no sound other than when you interact with an option. People like to argue that most of these were just optional by Nintendo, but to me it gave the console a soul. I remember having so much fun messing around with the games and checking out the cool features the 3DS had in store, especially with themes, the many options to choose at the toolbar like sketching and stuff. I'd lose myself for hours just trying to make the coolest art pieces with the very limited colors to choose from, but even with things like Streetpass, Faceraiders, and the AR game they tried to advertise, I'd always spend time getting sucked into these features on the 3DS, just having fun over everything else. It felt rewarding walking around just to meet someone who also had a 3DS and giving each other Friend Codes and stuff like that. I'd always go on walks to make sure I'd get the game tokens to hire just one more mercenary in Find Mii and somehow always failing. I got in a fight and accidentally broke the screen and it legit brought me to tears. I couldn't forgive myself for what I did, and afterwards I still really do, as I had so many things to remember about this console over any others out there. Not even the Wii could top how much this console meant to me and the countless hours I'd spend playing Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life. Now that I heard that the ability to purchase games digitally will finally have a deadline, it makes me sad and realize all the games I missed out on. I continue to remember this, as it was practically conjoined to me once I heard the new of Iwata's death. He played such a big role in developing some of my favorite games on the console and knew how to really make an interesting show with the direct's and E3 showcases. He passed on my birthday, and knowing this, I couldn't help but make this as a reflection of the legacy of Iwata and what Nintendo has become. I will miss you Iwata, and if there's one thing I'll miss about you, it would be your willingness to do the most outstanding of work with the company, especially with your refusal to lay off employees. You will be missed, and I will continue to smile for you as you did for so many others. Rest in peace.
I use my 2ds xl often to this day, and nothing beats playing Mario kart 7 and ACNL til the sun comes up!! The 3ds family has so much personality!! Everything seems so sterile these days. All uniform and business-y. This is where all the good stuff went. Long live the 3DS family!!!
Been playing my old 3DS recently and it’s really made me realize how much I appreciate the creativity and love that went into the creation of it and its games. Such a fun little system with so many possibilities and things to do.
I remember trying to connect to my home router even though I was almost a mile away from my house at my friends house and getting mad at my crusty 2ds.
I like how the Wii, Wii U, dsi, 3ds all were simple and straightforward with their operating systems, it really hit the feel of ohh this makes sense, but the more you look into it, you can find neat little things you never would’ve seen otherwise! It felt like you were discovering more and more what you could do on a little hand held or on a tv, truly the greatest systems ever to be made
i fucking love this, i bought a 3ds in 2014 with lunch money ive been saving for a couple of months, and hearing this never gets old, new consoles are so lifeless, i wish we could go back to this era of consoles..
Honestly, the 3DS and Wii U feel more futuristic and modern with their interfaces, music, apps, and aesthetics than the Switch does. The Switch feels like a soulless, bland, boring computer terminal. I really, really hope that the Switch 2 or whatever the next console is adapts the style guide of the 3DS and Wii U and isn't as boring as the Switch menu. Give us a new Mii Maker song and cool extra applications!
@@LeoHodges 2017 was the last time I remember doing it with my 3DS (But yes, your answer is more accurate), and shortly after I managed to get the Nintendo Switch just a few weeks later as well
@@roboking0975 As the Switch was brand new, I felt scared to take it anywhere for the first couple of months: if I were to have taken it anywhere it would have been bubble wrapped to hell and back. So yes, even I used the 3DS for the first half of 2017.
Man I miss my 3DS! The thing is completely dead, it doesn't charge or turn on anymore! I've had the thing for 11 or 12 years. (Basically since I was very young, so it's kind of damaged. Like the circle pad is just a nub) It's sad that in March 2023 anyone who has a device in is DS family won't be able to use the Eshop anymore. I hope one day they will bring more games from the DS family to switch like a second Tomodachi life for example. 3DS had so much life in it, such as custom themes changing the music, the little spinning game icons, internet access like RU-vid and a web browser, and they just gave the console so much life unlike the switch. I will truly miss the DS family.
I miss this song so much. I had a rare Pikachu 3DS XL that one day blew up internally and stopped powering up. The last time I ever heard this was when I was in Iceland connecting to a Vodafone WiFi hotspot in Akureyri near the docks during a cruise. It blew up in the stateroom while playing Pokemon Moon. RIP 3DS XL 2017-2022
Nintendo peaked its UI design and features with the 3ds line, every rendition gave something new to the OS (folders, themes, more music, letterbox, new animations for button presses and so many other small but lovely lil characteristics that make Nintendo the stylish underdogs they've always been)
One thing Nintendo was always good at was making ambient music for their settings/service centers on their consoles. It's such as small thing that makes a great impression over time. I still remember the first-time hearing this when I was setting up wifi on my 3ds christmas 2012. I wish they carried this over with the switch :(
These song uploads are starting to resemble mausoleums echoing with the sounds of 2011. We will have no use for the features these songs were composed to accompany. Enjoy what little time we have left, to enjoy the small things that seem insignificant now. The things that leave a greater impact after they've gone. I will miss rhe Nintendo 3DS, it was a novel little machine. It had Zelda OoT 3D and Kirby Triple Deluxe on it and everything.
