What you will find in this talk:
GreyNoise has recently achieved a major milestone of tagging 1,337 tags, which is a reference to the hacker number 1337.
This achievement was made possible by Sift, a new product from GreyNoise that uses AI to help the company’s detection engineers process millions of payloads quickly.
The speaker says that the internet has gotten much worse in recent years, with attackers changing their tactics.
One way attackers are changing their tactics is by using older vulnerabilities, rather than constantly trying to find new ones.
The speaker also warns that critical infrastructure, such as the electric grid and water treatment facilities, are at risk of cyberattacks from nation-state actors.
He discusses three specific groups that are targeting critical infrastructure: APT29 (Russia), APT33 (Iran), and a group called the Cyber Army of Iran.
The speaker concludes his talk by saying that it is important to be aware of these threats, but not to panic. He also advises people to be skeptical of information they see online about cyberattacks.
