that part where paul re-starts singing after the first chorus (around 3:37) is just... it seems like his voice is the light breaking thought the clouds in a grey sky. i've seen them live twice... and they played this song on both times. both times i thought i was going to pass out due to emotional overload.
I attended their concert two days ago at Radio City Hall in NYC. This song struck me the most. I listened to studio album and this song was one of OK songs but as they were playing this song live, wow incredible!!!
This is probably the best performance of a song I've ever seen. I may like other bands better, but Interpol's performance here is untouchable. Ever facet of the song is perfect: Paul's soaring vocals, Carlos' great bass work, Sam's hypnotic drumming, and Daniel plays guitar with so much passion. I wish I could have been there.
even though it may not matter to some, i think the lighting at interpol shows is sooo perfect. Combined with their superb music and dark vocals, it creates the perfect atmosphere.
i love how the europeans enjoy their concerts......nobody is filming anything...its just clapping and jumping, just having the best time of their life........that's what a concert is all about!
right on. i saw them at a big festival in belgium and the crowd was shitty as shit; but then i saw them in brazil, and the crowd was amazing (as it's usual of brazilian audiences) - it was an INCREDABLE concert. they enjoyed it as well - they played many enconres!
He plays in some of the biggests festivals in the world, in front of 10,000 peoples. He plays some basics (but beautiful that's true) things on guitar... So underrated... not sure... (sorry for my english I'm french)
@ratty860997 It's very hard to tell which one is best, personally i love the one i uploaded myself at the Heineken Music Hall, but thats maybe because i was there :) have a look, its a videomessage to this video so you should see it underneath the player, and let me know what you think! Ps i have a playlist with only Not Even Jail's :D maybe there are a couple in it you havent seen yet :)
Carlos d left, such a shame but his arrogance was ruining the band apparently, why does the instrumental piece always bring a tear to my eye? Daniel Kessler is underrated to say the least .
