Thank you for useful and informative videos for interrail. Definitely the best i've seen, and i've seen a lot. Can't wait to see the rest of the series.

So glad you found the video helpful. Honestly we felt the same at the start. Planning a multi country trip can be really stressful at times but once you're out there it'll be worth it! Also don't worry too much if your plans don't go quite accordingly, it's all part of the messy process we call travel :) At the end of it all I hope you have some really amazing memories you can tell stories about to others

Thanks a lot for these videos. Honestly, I think the interrail/eurail UX is really poor so this is super helpful.

That means a lot. The Interrail and Eurial experience was actually a lot worse a few years back - they've made huge improvements with their app and website. Travelling with their paper pass was also cumbersome! So fingers crossed they only improve from here.

Hey thanks for the videos, I have traveled a lot by plane, but I love traveling by train and have been thinking about interrail for years but just don’t know how it works. Can you customize it for example do like 1 week 2 countries ? Or 3 countries in 10 days ? Ans how about accommodation?
@Hezron1416
@Hezron1416 2 года назад
This is a great idea. 👍🏽
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose 2 года назад
Hey, no worries! Of course, you'll probably one to get a global pass which allows you to travel any country. Then you can customize your trip however you want. So if you one to spend two weeks in Italy (we did) then that's fine, then you can spend the next week travelling through 3 or 4 countries. How you want to travel is up to you! Accommodation isn't included with pass but with Interrail you do get some special promotions with certain places (check out the Interrail app benefit section). In general, accommodation in Europe is as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be!

Hi! A very useful video. I'm going interrailing on July with some friends and I have a doubt: can we use the Pass to go from our city of residence and also go back after we finish our trip or do we have to buy separate tickets from the Pass? Thanks :)
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose 2 года назад
Hey, which city are you travelling from? If it's within Europe then this should be fine - you have one outbound and one inbound train to your country of residence (again if it's in Europe/covered by Interrail)
@EsterLamberti
@EsterLamberti Год назад
@@ChopsticksOnTheLoose hii, i have already made my trip!! I really enjoyed it! but thanks for responding. I saw the inbound and outbound trips in the interrail app so doubt solved hehehe If you ever do one more video about interrail can you warn the people who are interested that some trains, like highspeed trains, you also have to pay for a seat reservation? Because I didn't know it and for some trains I had to pay from 10 to 27 euros, that's a thing to have in mind if you're on a budget. thanks again for the video, it was very helpful

Thanks for your helpful videos! I do have one point I'd like to clarify on: on a 'travel day', am I able to book trips between 2 countries + within the destination country itself?
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose 4 месяца назад
thank you! Yes a "travel day" allows you to travel across multiple countries and within a country as many time as you like. The only exception is your outward and inward train from your "home" country. You can only travel out and back to your "home" country once using the pass. By home country I really mean the place you've decided to start your trip from.

Does EURAIL/Interail pass include public transportation like metro's?
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose Год назад
Usually it doesn't but if you go to the Interrail Benefits page you can see if the pass includes local transportation. For example, in Alsace (France) our passes included buses around the region but this isn't always the case. The page you want to check can be found using the following link www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/pass-benefits

Last I checked Bosnia Herzegovina does not use mobile Eurail Pass yet. Only Eurail Paper Pass on ZRS trains. Hmm. can one get mobile and paper at the same time?
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose 3 месяца назад
You're correct, it seems as though ZRS trains aren't covered by mobile passes for now (we just learnt this ourselves). Unfortunately we're not entirely clear on how best to proceed and hether you can get both a mobile and paper pass at the same time (normally you can't). Would suggest reaching out to customer services at Interrail to ask but it would seem the best method would be to use a paper pass in this case. We did use a paper pass on our first Interrail trip and it was fine too, not as convenient as you need to fill in the train info each time you take one but wasn't too difficult either.

Could anyone give me some good recommendations of where to go please? I'd love to see some beautiful mountings/lakes and have fun nights out in city's with amazing food. I'm looking to go for a month. I'Il be leaving from London. I was thinking of this route, what do you think? Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, bled, Venice.
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose Год назад
The places you've chosen are all great - we did Amsterdam, Vienna, Bled and Venice on our own trip. There's a good mixture of nature and city between those places. But if you really want to see some amazing mountains you could add in Switzerland or the Dolomites in Italy. If you look at our first episode of our Interrail Guide we list out our itinerary. Also, we're planning to release a future episode which covers some of our favourite things to see/do on an Interrail Trip so be sure to subscribe to see it when it comes out!

Can you explain how the train transfer work?? I am confuse because some of the train change time is very short. Do you have enough time for the train transfer?
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose Год назад
Sure, on the app you'll notice some of the train transfers will say short - typically this means the connecting train is on the opposite platform. This has been true for us 9/10. You will get the odd one which requires you to run up and down the stairs but normally this shouldn't be the case. What we would recommend is taking a look to see if there is an alternative train you could catch should you miss the intended one. It never hurts to have a backup plan
@sanaa.2195
@sanaa.2195 Год назад
On the app there is an option to change the time of transfer, it's default is 5 minutes but you can change it. So if you add 30 minutes of transfer only, then only those journeys will be shown.

What's the quitiest and cheapest months to go interailling?
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose 6 месяцев назад
You'll for sure want to skip the summer holiday months but after that it's really dependant on the countries you're travelling to e.g. do they have public holidays or festivals happening. But in general you could travel most times of the year and just avoid peak times and you'll be fine. In terms of cheapest, are you referring to the Interrail ticket or travelling around Europe in general? If in general then anytime outside of Summer will be fine. Let us know if you have any other questions

How do you know which trains you can take?
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose 15 часов назад
The easiest way is to use the railplanner app and search where you're travelling from and where you want to go. The app will then pop up with trains you can take using your Interrail pass. It'll also tell you whether the train requires a reservation fee as well so you won't get caught out.
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose
@ChopsticksOnTheLoose 14 часов назад
Forgot to add, if you'd rather do your planning on a desktop then you can use their page "Search Train Times in Europe" which also does the same job. here's the link www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/interrail-timetable#/
