Solid tools are great for intersecting or connecting solids! But what happens when the solids you want to intersect are SUPPOSED to have holes in them? What about something like pipes? This is exactly the issue that Aaron tackles in this video!

Nice one Aaron, clearly explained and a very useful skill set to have on the tool belt.

Using xray view helps to show all the inside geometry or hidden lines too. Pulling the pieces apart was a nice touch though. Keep up the good work Aaron

Very nice. Can you try drawing ABS Pipe Fittings? This technique does not work that well when you are intersecting the pipes with sweeps in them. Try a 2" Sanitary Tee for example.

Why such a complicated process with the L shaped pipe? Doing just a circle, L shaped lines and follow me way faster and easier… or do I miss something? I never use SketchUp web

Yep! A Follow Me would be a great way to do that particular shape. This was more of an exercise to help understand how to intersect "hollow solids"

Very useful compared to using fittings and straight pipe.
