I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, once NC finishes constructing I-87, which should be called I-46, Virginia should change 95 SB’s control city to Raleigh

The story regarding the toll on Maine I-95 is that the original construction bonds for the Maine Turnpike/I-95 were paid off in the 1980s. At the time, the state put it to a referendum as to whether tolls should be kept for the Maine Turnpike/I-95 in order to maintain the highway. Keeping tolls was approved by the voters. The rationale was that out-of-state tourists make up a significant portion of the traffic on that highway, particularly in the summer, so let them pay tolls for the maintenance rather than have it come out of the tax base. The "good" news is that the tolls are currently below the levels that the tolls were at when the constructions bonds were still being paid down prior to the early-1980s. Mainers learn to avoid or minimize their travel over the Maine Turnpike. Not saying that the state is correct in keeping tolls. But consider that Mainers tend to be fiscally conservative. And they want tourists to pay for things they use.

I-95 always has the worst traffic in Northern Virginia, especially between DC and Richmond.

595 exit is both east and west i take it all the time east to world famous Dania beach were i live west to naples weston and points west happy motoring

Recently the NJ Turnpike Authority changed a couple of mainline SB signs from "Camden" to "Philadelphia" at Exit 7A and Exit 7. Also the SB Garden State Parkway approaching I-95/NJ Turnpike has "Philadelphia" as a control city. Further south on the Turnpike, there is at least 1 mileage sign listing Wilmington, Baltimore, and Washington DC.
