I bought these about 3 months ago when I wanted to replace my old ones. Never had an issue with them. They do say you need to buy their shank to make the spring work, but they work fine in my standard shanks.
I have had the flow control faucets from Intertap for about 2 years now. I cant use the spring but its worth it to control the flow. I run my CO2 pressure at 10 psi and I used to have 10ft of line just to keep the beer from foaming up. Now I can just run a short line and adjust it on the tap. Love them so much easier.
I also switched to intetaps on my 2 tap kegerator because the cheap ones I bought when I built my kegerator were sticking so bad. Had them about a year now and couldn't be happier. I use the growler filler attachment to fill 12 oz bottles for competitions and it works great! No issues losing a lot of carbonation and no signs of the beers oxidizing.
Ive had these for a few years now. I absolutely love them. I’ve had no issues at all. The growler filler works great and you could use it to fill bottles too. Personally I think they are the best out there. Cheers Brian🍻
I really, really like those faucets. If those had been available back when I bought my perlicks I would have never bought them. The tips are an awesome idea. The ball lock post is brilliant. Cheers Brian!
This looks awesome. I still need to put a faucet on my beer fridge. One keg so far, so I've just been opening the door and grabbing the picnic tap. Upgrading slowly but surely!
The faucet looks nice. At the moment I use the Pluto Beer Guns for dispensing. I just recently upgraded from the picnic taps (after I lost some beer due to the picnic tap leaking). I do want to upgrade to faucet style dispensers, it will just take some time to work towards the upgrade. Another great video!
I have been slowly switching out my four faucets with the Intertap Gen 2's. I love them! Once finish getting the faucets, I will be replace the shanks with theirs to house the springs to prevent any accidents.
Don't know if anyone else posted this but for anyone having issues with leaking/dripping Perlicks and can't afford to fix or replace them, the Intertap springs are inexpensive and fit Perlick 630SS faucets. I bought some for my Perlicks to avoid someone forgetting to push a faucet back the whole way after pouring a beer at my partys.
I've got five intertap faucets with the flow control lever thingamajigger.. I don't find the flow control particularly useful to be honest. But I absolutely love the faucets.
Would love to see a video breakdown of your keg system, with why you chose the options you did. Example. Why tower over collar; or secondary regulator over manifold. Love the videos!
Thanks for the review. My keg fridge just crapped the bed this weekend so it time for a new build and had been considering these taps. Appreciate the info!
Love the channel. Been brewing now for about 5 years and found the channel when I started researching going electric. My faucet handles all have a hole drilled into them with a small piece of shock cord looped through the hole to a small eye bolt screwed into the collar on my kegerator. It looks like hell but works pretty good. I think I might need to upgrade now. Or as another commenter has mentioned just try the springs alone. It would get a bit spendy to replace all 8 taps.
Thanks Chris I appreciate the comments. Sometimes function over form is what it takes LOL. I like the Ingenuity of it! They are pretty nice but you're right eight of them would certainly hit the pocketbook. Maybe a few at a time if the Springs don't help. Cheers! 👍🍻
Tease!.. My Perlick has been getting moody lately.. and was looking at a Flow control model Intertap. But the ball lock option may have sold me! Great review... thanks...
These taps came with the Komos kegerator...one problem...did not come with all the attachments, so I'm trying to figure out how to tighten up the handle so a heavier tap handle doesn't just spill beer everywhere. Guess I'll have to find the springs...appreciate you mentioning that.
That looks like what I need. I replaced the original cheap faucet on my kegerator with a perlick faucet and it too would open itself as you walk away spilling beer everywhere.
I HATE THAT!! Nothing drives me more bonkers that having the faucet leak.. Thankfully these fixed that issue for me! Cheers Larry!! Getting close to 20K!!!
Just lost a whole keg to a crappy faucet accidentally partially turned on, need to upgrade this with the spring will be the solution, love the other features too
I currently have two perlicks on my tower. Never had any issues with the taps themselves. My only issue I have had with my kegging system is getting foam on the first pour. Pretty sure it's related to either no cold air circulation to the top of the tower or my lines are too short. So I would be interested in a video on setting up a kegging system for sure.
Yeah Josh, Some people I talk to have good luck wit the Perlick faucets. Maybe its me!! lol I do experience some slight foaming until the line and tap gets cold on that initial pour.. I am going to do a kegging video at some point in the near future.
Yeh, got 3 intertaps myself. No attachments though. Great taps as you say. My springs don't seem to work though, they don't auto shut off. Never had an issue with leaks though. Cheers
That's interesting? Some people have commented that you need the Intertap shanks for the springs? Mine works fine. BUT as long as you are not having any leaks!! good enough! Cheers man!! 🍻
I have seem to remember seeing a video from Keg King the addresses that problem....ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h_tvk8iCRCw.html. Look at the 11:00 mark.
I use Micromatic RotoTaps in my system. I have a mix of flow control and the standard ones. I've been thinking about trying a few other faucets to help with growler filling though. These have interested me for a while. Nice review!
A few people have commented that the spring works on the Perlick faucets.. For $1.99 you might give it a try and see if it woks on one of them. There is a link to the spring in the description. Cheers!
I use 2 Intertap Flow Control taps on my kegerator. I find the flow control useful in fine tuning the resistance for different carb levels in beers without needing to change out hose lengths. They also flow better and drip less than the cheap chinese taps that I had before!
Brian Harkin don't have any nitro :( YET! I did talk to several people that have the stout attachment and they absolutely love it.. I tell you I was sold after using the first one!! Cheers! 🍻
Short Circuited Brewers I didn't get the springs, but I did get the tower shanks and the growler filler. The tower shanks are just as high quality as the faucets.
Great video of a great product from #kegking. There is nothing more useful than all those attachments when you have a kegerator. Just wish I could get in South Africa.
I have perkick 525ss faucets. Love them. Never had an issue. My dad has the 630ss faucets. They are nice but I like the older style better. The intertap ones look pretty cool as far as flexibility but I rarely bottle off keg when I do it is with beer gun. I fill very few growlers but have a filler tube. Cheers
I never realized the auto close spring wasn't absolutely necessary. That being said, I'm not sure if I want to take it off with 2 cats running around. The spring is just a little bit too strong IMO.
In the example I showed here that is not a intertap shank and has way more tension than a intertap shank/faucet combo. I have the intertap faucets on my kegland series 4 kegerators and they are actually not strong enough.. Lol 👍🍻
Hi Brian, nice looking set up there. I have not had any luck with those springs and would really like them to work. Too slack and it leaks and when I tighten it down, the handle wont spring back. I have the Intertap shanks also. If you or anyone else out there have any advice I would be most grateful. Thanks Geoff
I've been looking at these for a while, but with my filing station I'm building I'd like to use the ball lock attachment for quick canning run changeover between kegs. I like the spring but if I'm using it to fill cans of need to keep one of mine without the spring so I could leave it open while filling. Cheers Brian
What Perlick taps were you using? I have 2 of the 650ss with flow control and 2 dirt cheap ones. I need to replace the cheap ones, but am happy with the 650s.
GyroMonkeyTV I'll have to check, they were not the stainless ones, but they weren't the cheapest either, I know I paid more than what I did for the intertap ones...cheers!🍻
I just bought 4 Becker V3S Compact Forward Sealing Creamer SS Faucets, but haven’t received them yet. Was wondering if there were any reviews on those. After watching this video, it makes wonder if they’re just as good. Thanks.
I use Andale Floryte taps, if you can find them they are great... Forward sealing and quick release commercial grade. Great if you have kids or need to close the pub for the evening - tap releases with one hand and stainless rinses well with some hot water
That ball lock post comes really handy when filling a mancan etc. I currently have only a single Perlick 650SS that connects directly into a keg but after this video I'm considering the option to buy Intertaps for my upcoming kegerator. That way I could easily dedicate the perlick for the mancan (trips and so on). Any change that you're going to make a review about model 8473 (Intertap with flow control)?
Keijo Johansson I agree the Ball lock fitting comes in handy..I have not inquired about a flow control. Some one did comment on this video that they have one and don't use it much. Question, what would you use the flow control for? Filling growlers etc?
I bought the perlick with FC so I could install it directly into a keg. There's no hose to balance the pressure/flow. That way I could have wider range of carbonation without the foaming problems. It has come handy and I've used it a lot because I'm still a noob with kegging (overcarbonated quite a few kegs with force carbonating). But I agree that there isn't that much of a need after you get your hoses set up correctly and know how to hit the carbonation spot on every time.
Yeah you and i spoke about the Perlick faucets once before. I was going to try and re-build the ones I have. Then I got one of these and really liked it so I went that route instead. If what you have works for you, that is great no need to change! Cheers Eric! 🍻
I have the Intertap basic chorme plated faucets. I'm interested in the attachmentmets for the faucets, but I want wondering if a 3/8 hose will fit through a standard 12oz bottle opening to fill rather then using Beer gun. Also have you tried the stout tap. I don't have nitro, just co2 and I don't alot of stouts on tap as I have a a 2 tap Kegerator. Should I just stick with the standard top when pouring mine?
Yes the 3/8 house will fit. The advantage of the beer gun is that you can purge the bottle with CO2. I have not used the stout tap. A couple of people have said that it does work with CO2 but nitro would be better.
They do make 1/2" bottling wands..that may work for you with that growler attachment. If you have a carb cap with a barb like mine, attach some hose and purge the bottle with CO2 before filling..kinda like a cheaper beer gun solution. Let me know what you do and how it works! 👍🍻
Which perlick faucets did you have? The 630ss? Just curious if the leaking was with older versions or the 630's. These Interraps seem pretty sweet with the attachments.
I believe they were the 630. They are awesome! Just bought one of the kegland series 4 kegerators and they come with the intertap faucet and shanks! 👍🍻
Ok cool! Thanks for the quick reply! I have been trying to decide between perlicks and the intertaps, but i am going to go with the intertaps now 😁 Cheers!
Building a 16 Tap keezer at the moment. I like the ball lock attachment, but with the spring, do you need to hold the handle and use the beer gun trigger? I use the Last straw from Northern Brewer.
xboxer1985 yes you would have to hold the Tao handle open. A suggestion on that, if you know you are bottling quite a few bottles off of the keg, you could leave the spring out. Cheers! 👍🍻
Short Circuited Brewers i figured as much for removing the spring, makes sense. 16 tap setup is some mad $$$ so just doing 8 for the first round. Intertap looks perfect versatility at around $18/tap (not stainless) and like $12-14 for the add on attachments.
Another question Brian, Intertap said I need to use their shanks to utilize their return spring, is this not the case? you were able to force the spring in a standard shank it looks like?
Have you found the stout faucet attachment works as well as a dedicated stout faucet? Seems kind of crazy that this only costs about 40 for the faucet and stout attachment when a dedicated nitro faucet is 80 to 100.
I have not tried it with nitro, however I have heard from several people they work well. Really nothing to special about a stout faucets other than the restrictor plate. (As far as I know, but I could be wrong) Cheers! 👍🍻
I use cheap Ebay jobbies like the 1st example you showed that gets all gummy and yuk.. I paid $25 (australian) for one and they accidentally sent me 2... win... had them 18months now and looking to move up to these intertap faucets.
I'm building a keezer and to make my wife happy i'm adding a tap with ginger ale. Are there any concerns with using an intertap faucet with sugary beverages?
Not that I'm aware of Beer has sugars in it. They are residual but they're still sugars in there. The inner taps are a forward seal faucet so the seals stay wet all the time and should not stick.
I have the intertap ss faucet with the spring. I'm pretty sure the spring is to short as it doesn't autoclose. I'm actually going to order the intertap with flow control just to help with foam from commercial kegged IPA's as they foam like hell
Yeah maybe. I was thinking it was over carbonated. Kinda ruled that out when you said commercial keg. I would definitely check the regulator.. Let me know what you find out. Cheers! 👍🍻
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers swapped reg parts, still doing it. So I'm gonna try the intertap flow control. And it still continues, then changing serving like to 1/4OD tubing
Rob Evans well that is one of the benefits.. In my experience (so far) it has been leak free, can't say that for my perlicks. Also the attachments are very nice IMO.
Any personal thoughts on Chrome plated brass version vs SS? I mean Stainless is better overall i'd imagine for bars etc but for the casual homebrewer? The brass version is $20. Also- does the spring work with any shank? I am not sure which one I have it's been years since I bought it.
The only "issue" with the chrome (and I can tell you first hand from previous faucets) The chrome does eventually get eaten away be the beer and cleaners and you are left with whatever the layer is underneath. In a typical chrome plating process it is either brass or nickel. How quickly this happens has a lot to do with how often you use the faucet. some say it does impart an off flavor to the beer. I don't have any facts to back that up. BUT if you have beer sitting in brass for a few hours or even days I could see how it would pick up some kind of off flavor. A bonus to stainless is it is easier to clean as well. As for the spring, They fit my stock standard tower shanks. YMMV Great question! Thanks for commenting! 🍻
That's odd since there are MANY brass faucets with no plating out there. If that's the case I'll save the money and get the chrome plated brass version. As for the spring...meh...it's $2. I'll roll the dice. HAHA By the way- are these made in USA?
Rob Evans like I said I have no data to back up those flavor statements, nor are they my own. They are sold by keg king out of Australia. I am not for sure where they are made. 🍻
I find these drip more than the Perlicks I had. As much as 8 or 9 drips vs the Perlick 3 to 4. Anyone else having this issue with the spring installed?
Have a home made keezer with Perlick faucets. Looking at getting a Kegland kegerator for the inside of my house so the wife will approve! My Perlick leaks like sieve. Think it might be time for an upgrade! I follow you on instagram: boostedkegbrewing
