ResTube's first in person interview! And where were we? At the Eyeball Museum!

Our tour guide on this excursion into obsession is Andreas, the curator of the Eyeball Museum and the owner/operator of Psychofon Records.

Very cool. Don shot this museum which I edited into a sequence in our film . I still have the video reel-to-reel recorder used for Vileness Fats.

@@mr.riggsysrestube8204 It still works! Sort of. I played the original Vileness Fats tapes on the machine and it transported the tapes, which we shot for Theory of Obscurity, but it didn't output video signal. Yes, I had all 25 raw tapes of Vileness as well for over a year, but I gave them back to Homer.

@@mr.riggsysrestube8204 Hardy Fox gave it to me. It was in his basement. I begged him for the Resitar, the guitar used on Duck Stab, but Hardy just said, "no, it's just a piece of junk." I'm guessing it was just thrown away when he passed away. I tried to get it. It was some sort of Hagstrom or Mosrite 12-string. You can see it at the end of the 3rd Reich video.

I agree with him about how it will consume you. I largely concentrate on the music, and there is still lots of things I don’t have and probably never will. Still, the Residents take up the bulk of my collection. I’m just glad I never got as obsessed with Zappa or my collection would have its own gravity well. Aside: He isn’t the one that has Hardy’s tooth, is he? I am still curious what happened to that.

@@mr.riggsysrestube8204 Hardy had a bad tooth pulled sometime in the early 2000s when a lot of the test pressings, artwork and other stuff was going up for auction after Ralph America cleaned house. They decided to auction it off on their website at the time. I think the money went to charity. I mentioned it before on the FB page. Some people remember it, but I don’t think the person who has it came forth. Figured it would filter down to Andreas at some point.

I was there in...?.. must have been 2018. A fantastic, indescribable place, and such nice guy Andreas. Absolutely incomparable. Sometimes it's hard to believe it's real. But you convinced me for now, I was't dreaming.

Fantastic video, I'm still hoping to make the visit to the eyeball museum. How wonderful to see and hear Andreas again. I met him at the Klanggallerie concert in Wien and he was kind enough to speak to me for ages, what a lovely person.
