Beth is always so comfortable and poised in these interviews, and she knows how to tease storylines without giving too much away. I would have liked to ask her to compare the three showrunners she's worked with in her seven seasons. Good job ladies!
This is one of my favorite interviews. Beth is such a refreshing informative guest. Love learning how she came to be a writer and came to WCTH! Appreciate her sharing the history of the story arc and how the writers work! Looking forward to her other episodes and the rest od Season 11. What a lovely woman.

I understand how much the staff of WCTH appreciate the "Hearties," but I've never felt comfortable with it. Maybe because I came late to the party. ❤ love all around inspite of the term.
I refer to Nathan and Elizabeth as the upside down couple. They don't do things exactly the traditional way. They became friends and maybe more. No they didn't have an official date. For Nathan he felt they were definitely more than friends. I mean Nathan declared he loved Elizabeth in the beginning of S8. He told her he knew she felt the same way. But she rejected him. Nathan, I believe knew this was out of fear. So Elizabeth moved on with Lucas. However, Nathan even though he had to be hurt by Elizabeth remained her friend. They had lots of deep conversations and shared advice with each other about raising their kids. They were helping parenting essentially without being married to each other!😂 Nathan being Elizabeth's "friend" was intentional. He still loved her and was trying to show her who he was in a gentle manner. Instead of having grand gestures, Nathan was taking a slow long term approach to win Elizabeth's heart. He probably thought he lost Elizabeth for good when Elizabeth got engaged to Lucas. If you noticed in S9 some of Nathan's interactions with Elizabeth, he was a little more sarcastic in some of his conversations with her. I believe this was out of hurt. So when Elizabeth broke off her engagement this probably surprised Nathan. It's been like a year now since Elizabeth broke off her engagement. She is ready to move on. She has finally admitted she has feelings for Nathan. Question is does she love Nathan? I think we will find out she does. Now Nathan is taking a gentle Love Comes Softly approach towards a romantic relationship with Elizabeth. They still are there for each other and parenting together. Since Nathan and Elizabeth haven't had a traditional romantic relationship, I could see them both finally declaring they love each and running of and getting married right away. I think if we get a surprise wedding from Nathan and Elizabeth you will also see them become a family with Judge Bill making little Jack adoption by Nathan official and Elizabeth adopting Allie. Pastor Joseph will marry them and pray over the new family. Everyone thinks it's Mike and Mei getting married and the wedding will be different because of her Asian culture. But I wouldn't count Elizabeth and Nathan out of the possibilities of the couple getting married in S11. That type of wedding would be different too. Nathan and Elizabeth haven't done things traditionally at all. Why would they start now. ❤
Thanks for this great interview. Just one comment about you referring to a Taylor Swift song about an invisible string between two hearts? I am not familiar with that song but Jane Eyre (Charlotte Brontë) has an amazing quote about such a string.
