Interview | Glass Animals on Dreamland, vulnerability, recurring nightmares + MORE! 

A great chat! I liked the dream conversation: I think that dream is about choices and fear of making decisions. The doors and corridors represent all the choices we can make, but none of the doors or corridors are chosen, so in the open room the cats appear. The cats also represent choices and they look cute but then shoot people, maybe this represents that there is no way to make a decision or choice without some pain being involved. I liked the mention of the elements and Dave being air, perhaps because he is scared of making choices he "floats around" a bit?

What a great interview... So nice to hear Davey talk about dreams and his process 😊 Also, I agree "Space Ghost ..." Is my favorite track on the album and it's an important question. "What causes someone who is so normal to end up bringing a gun to school to murder people?" I only wish you would have asked him, if he has spoken to the former friend (1st verse) and of not; if he would reconnect with that childhood friend?

So nice to see more Dave interviews, Glass animals is my fav band ever. Thanks!

Aww what a great interview! I didn’t want it to end. The album is seriously GOLD!! The music, the writing.. it does this weird thing where it the music lifts me up and makes me dance, but yet the lyrics pull at my heart strings in such a way.

Im so glad he created this, the vulnerability is what i needed to feel at the time I discovered this album, giving me clarity in what I experienced before and what I know now

ive been listening to dreamland for months. it's just now that i'm delving into the lyrics and the inspiration behind it. it's an amazing experience so far. thanls a lot for this interview

Great interview!

His dream likely means he has to pick a path but he fears what door. The cats are the gatekeepers of the various choices he has before him. All of the options have potential that scare him. Makes sense if he's always worrying about the future... Also, it's pretty special he dreams in color.
