What a great man he is, loyal hard working passionate and gifted. It has been a pleasure to be able to watch him play and grow into a real talent, Bristol City have a real Gem. Loved that he got the chance to help us secure promotion, it just had to be. He has done it the right way, what a refreshing change to be able to wish a player all the best with another club and 100% mean it. Max please have a great career and we genuinely hope to see you in the White shirt of Derby County again one day. Thanks You.

A lot of people calling this a backwards move. This move was made in January while we were far from being guaranteed to be getting promoted, at the time is was definitely the right move for him, it's a shame he won't be with us going forward, best of luck with your future, Max!

Can't understand negative and cynical comments. Just wish him well. He's given everything for this club and has a big hand in getting us promoted.

That lad could have quite easily never put another derby top on after some of the jeers, and stick he received for making what was a massive decision in his life…but that’s not Birdy….hes a true derby legend for sticking by the club thru thick and thin and his ending was a perfect one…great professional…thanks max 🙏

Was skeptical when he came back on loan but he still did us proud and an important goal on the final day, you could see how much the club still means to him. A fantastic servant, but is he really any better off at Bristol City? Knight too now. No disrespect to them. Maybe better money? Still, all the best to him 🐏

Always been a big fan of Birdy, and wish him well. I do feel that moving to Bristol City isn't the best move for him - a very middle of the road club - but hopefully he does well there and can use it as a springboard to a higher level that he deserves.

As a great pro as he is, I’m sure he will get on with the move, but deep down I reckon there’s a little bit of regret. The send off showed him what he meant. Takes a long time to get that kind of adoration. That said, hope he’s a great success elsewhere. Sure he will be. His quality will show through

Not so sure a step on for Max. Of course wish him the absolute best in his career and given the dire circumstances the club was in a while back when he signed you can understand the move, just wish the club had the hindsight at the time to keep such a player developed by the DCFC academy. We have will be above Bristol City next season, so we should one-up Birdy & Jason Knight. Not sure either will be more than average players. Would prefer Hayden Roberts back..
