@JHodge1 the fact this happened before the PSR deadline tells me United have got the better deal as there was more leverage for them and more pressure on Newcastle. Thats logical surely. Newcastle have been paying Ashworth for 4 months to work from home for United. Whoever Newcastle bring in won't be nearly as good as Ashworth

@JHodge1 why didn't you get Mitchell before you paid Brighton 4m compensation for Ashworth? He's decent Paul Mitchell, not as good as Ashworth when you look at the impact each has had at the clubs theyve worked at. That's why INEOS went straight in for Ashworth as DOF, even though Mitchell would have been easier to get. If Mitchell was your number 1 surely your owners wouldn't have gone for Ashworth first. I think it was mentioned about Mitchell coming to United as we were looking for somebody to head up recruitment. Think Mitchell is a good head of recruitment, but not a director of football. Time will tell
