Part 1 of The Velvet Onion's interview with Noel Fielding. To mark the occasion of his birthday Noel discusses what it means to be turning 40. A massive thank you to Noel for taking the time to talk to The Velvet Onion. Happy birthday!
I think the reason so many people find Noel attractive despite the fact that he is not conventionally attractive is because he is so awesome funny and charismatic.
I'm blown away that he's 40. What he said is right on too. Not quite 40 yet but already feel the way he's talking about. I told my ex girlfriends daughter the other days when she asked why I took all my piercings out years ago and I said that being cool is for young people. Now I'm just here to give them something to point and laugh at.
Once you hit 30’s you’re just desperately hanging onto any coolness left and trying to prove you are still relevant to 20 somethings. I guess at 40 you finally just stop caring. 😂 Ageing is going to happen to literally everybody. Well, unless you die first.
That's ludicrous! Lol If you continue on as who you've always been, you aren't clinging, just being yourself. If you start getting crappy face tattoos or following "new" trends, that's when a person becomes laughable and a desperation for relevancy becomes glaringly obvious.
This man is amazing!!! when I was watching never mind the buzzcock, I heard Noel calling those 20+ year old guests kids, I was like WHAT! why did u say that?! but then I realized that he is nearly 40!! you just can't tell that from his appearance! Now he is turning 40, but look at him still looks hot and fresh!
I don't think there are words that adequately describe how much I want to cuddle that man for the next several years. Maybe until his 50th birthday. Or longer.
Even just the way he grabs his cup is sexy... It's unbelievable that he's turning 40, he looks 20, and he gets more and more sexy as time passes by... What a beautiful man he is. Thank you guys for the interview, I hope you post the rest of it soon, I can't wait to see how many twitter fieldmice got mentioned lol :)
My friends parents are only 18 years apart from her age. My mom and dad were 46 and 47 when they had me. Everyone keeps asking me why my grandparents pick me up. I just say Im adopted. But I apreciate how stable and knowledgeable they are. My parents, especialy my dad, are like life guru's. I hope the best for Noel.
AWW! Oh my goodness that was the sweetest thing ever, i just keep watching it and nearly crying when he talks about regretting not having children yet :') There is still plenty of time Noely! Have some babies! They will be adorable! This is such a lovely interview because he is still funny but is also very genuine and real- I haven't seen him speak like this before- it was beautiful and I love him to pieces. Happy Birthday Noel! You are perfect! I love you Thank you TVO for this perfection xxx
He does look young but it's mostly how he styles himself, and of course dyes his hair. He looks young because he dresses and speaks like a younger person.
He totally looks 40. The problem is, most younger folks have no concept of what 40 really looks like. Having said that, he is aging well and I would guess that it has something to do with not having kids yet.
Most adults exaggerate what 40 looks like tbh. People in their 50s whine about being old when they still have two working legs. They just wanna sit on their asses and drink. Meanwhile, 80-somethings are out and about, minimizing their walker use as much as possible.
I think I love him even more hearing him talk about this stuff. You normally see him acting like a wally and I love that but getting to see interviews he's intelligent and lovely. He seriously doesn't look 40 though and that's good. I like the way he is as well. My mum's always saying dress more your ageand don't wear hello kitty, sod it, life's too short, be who you want to be and buy the things you love like hello kitty, fuck it. xx
It's great to hear Noel talking about how he really feels being 40 and giving us a little information on his parents and his life. Imagine if he has kids one day, cute little blue haired raggamuffins :) Thanks for the video TVO!x
We're actually close in age, but he inspires a bit of maternal/aunt reaction from me; I just am so pleased whenever I see him happy. (Ok, honestly, I do the whole "maternal thing" a lot, but it's strong w some.) I find myself avoiding finding out much about him or watching his stand up for fear that I may find out something quite unpleasant. (As it is, upon seeing some of the art, I thought, "Oh. Oh Noel, dear...um." *tsk. lol) Glad to hear that his parents seem to be quite nice. Wonderful for the Goth Detective.
