Two reasons I don't like corporate interviews: • I'm an introvert • You can't speak your mind here. You have to be diplomatic and pretentious... Not my type...
This is so true..i get lost when they ask "tell me about yourself"..i can't define myself in one or two sentences....and if i sense interviewer is not paying attention, i don't feel like giving response..am struck in my current job for 8 years just because I don't want to give interviews ...
In every interview u sit wether it is of ias or ssb or corporate , you have to be a bit diplomatic . Thats just an excuse to not try to improve as per the world demands you.
@@tanishqvishwakarma5552 bhai aisa diplomatic sirf corporate mai hi chahiye I am a govt. engineer / officer, gave 4 govt. interviews and nowhere I was asked stupid questions like where do you see yourself in 5 years. Saab jagah max. engineering question and hardly 1-2 HR questions like are you comfortable with posting all over India or how will you tackle working in shifts? Beauty about govt. interview is your marks in written is given more preference and your technical knowledge. I agree there used to be lot of corruption earlier but now slowly but surely things are changing n all my colleagues are merit based allocation. You know once you talk with them. I guess for introverts govt. jobs are best
@@raulgonzalez7216 you gave some good insight but i was talking specifically about this video. And where do u see yourself is 5 years, ye sawaal bhi nhi poochte hai bhai ab ,unles as a candidate you're a lost case or if the job position youre applying for is something like and HR or consultant jaha pe u dont have to use your brain at all. And the interview youre talking about, uska ans aapne khud he de diya ki written marks matter thats why interview m grind nhi karte hai but jaha pr interview imp hai like army, or ias, waha par dekhna, you have to be very balanced between being diplomatic and honest . And regardles, if youre supposed to lead a team of individuals under you, you have to be able to handle different kinds of personalities which is why they expect u to handle weird questions with logic, those question are meant to test u and shake u, no matter how much we mock them outside but they serve their purpose very well when a candidate is being assesed. And the organisation which produces quality results always grills their aspirants very hard , fir chahe wo corporate ho ya govt. It also depens what kind of role youre applying for.
@@tanishqvishwakarma5552 bhai sahab pehle toh sahi se likhna sekho seriously I am not trying to insult you but half of your writing is unclear. Eg like and HR or consultant and here I am not even mentioning spelling mistakes. Regardless I was replying to you bcoz you were trying to discourage the guy using wide range of sectors eg. starting from army, ias then corporate. I just showed him and even you that if someone is an introvert (myself included) but has good technical knowledge or any knowledge then he/she is always welcomed in govt. service where rather than your communication skills here knowledge is given more importance since written test are conducted. Don't know about army but regarding UPSC CSE just one thing youtube shorts wale mocks ke sawal nhi puchte hai. mere bhai waha bhi knowledge based sawal puchte hai to test your acumen, patience, ability to tackle situation. You may noy seem to know but in govt. service interview there's less of show off HR based questions and more knowledge based questions. And bhai I am not an aspirant or candidate upar ka comment phir se padh lo mera wala. Aur mere under kaam karne wale aapke tarah nhi hai thankfully. There's an old saying Give respect Take respect. I have friends who have cleared UPSC ESE, GATE working in profit making PSUs, Nationalized Banks, so I know for a fact the kind of questions asked in interview. You tried to discourage the main comment and I am giving him another way of getting a job. That's a big difference in there itself. I also know that competition is like a rat's race for govt. job but atleast there's not much emphasis on how you look or whether you are able to converse fluenctly in English like corporates
When someone says it is personal why can't their privacy be respected As a HR or Manager the focus should be on ensuring that the candidate is available to work with them with better productivity😊
I'm a software engineer, I explained that I took a 5 year break freelancing (writing) when I can as i was caring for my mom who was a stroke patient as well as my dad with heart problems and I was getting back to work now that they have unfortunately passed away and I want to move on with life and focus on my career. Several people asked why didn't I put them in a care home and suggested that I could be rusty as a software engineer to hire now since I've only been doing writing during the last 5 years... I am being punished for being a caring daughter and now i have 5+ gap years and parents gone too. I'm permanently unemployable. I'm also 36 now, lost my chance to marry because i was caring for parents. My partner waited for 3 years but gave up and married someone else because he felt I'll be stuck caring for parents rest of my life. Gap years is such mess. Because parents filed bankruptcy in my 20s, there were no savings, house, or any inheritance. Everyone kept telling me i was mad as there is nothing in it for me, but all i could think was making parents comfortable. I didn't think about the future. Everyone called me naive and that i deserve this misfortune but i still don't feel being there for them is the fault but the corporate world that's not forgiving of gap years is at fault. Not everyone can abandon their parents. Maybe I'm broken. My mom forgot everyone as her brain declined, only thing that comforted her was being near me. Even after she forgot who I was she got panic attacks when i wasn't near her. How could she have survived being looked after or be by strangers? Dementia is very hard, if there is no love dementia patients life is hell! I heard so many stories of abuse in care homes. Infosys and Accenture both told me i was just being pedantic in wanting to be the one to care for them so it's my own fault I'm not ready to rejoin workforce. I took refresher courses, but not enough for them. 🥺
Don't worry about it. These are Indian companies runs with no logic & baseless ethics with under paid over valued employees.. Try your luck in abroad even if it's Bangladesh or Vietnam. These kind of shit rules you will only find in india.
Real reasons gap ke personal hi hote hi sometime marriage problems sometimes relation bf gf break down ....but for getting a job we told lie. Perform a formal answer I am filling this wrong what should be in this situation, ..
How many companies will be this transparent with salary negotiations or layoffs? You owe them nothing more than what they give you. A candidate's personal life is none of the employer's business. All that matters is their suitability for the job.
I wish this was true. I had got a offer from an organization as I matched all the skill sets required. I went till the final round however the head HR denied as I had a career gap because of my exams. She clearly said she doesn't trust me 😅
That's not at all true . They don't even ask enough questions technically. Lazy ass people ask random questions and decide stupidly , so many people do wrong hires just by asking questions for 5 minutes or 10 minutes 🤦🤦
Finally…I got the best answer for the gap and here I’m with interviewer choosing the fourth reply. I took a break because I was preparing for my X exams and unfortunately that dint workout. Interviewer: which exam? Me: X exam Interviewer: we will get back to you… I’m excited to hear from them. Thank you for the super explainer video…
No no.. having a gap should be normal and it’s okay not to share due to personal reasons.. we should accept the gap. I like to take gap in my career to rejuvenate.
This year gap bullshit only asked by IT service based companies & it's a low grade mentality of Indian organisations. otherwise freelancing for 5+ years is probably a suitable answer. But Don't ever say You were trying your luck in Start ups. Companies hates candidates who involved in strat ups. Pathetic Reality in India.
How about I wanted to travel and see the world! Why should that not be a reasonable response. We are not work horses. For companies to expect that humans not have a break but constantly work is the mindset we need to address. Not come up with responses that will be acceptable for a career gap explanation. It's no one's business why one takes a break. If your skillsets match that of the job requirement you should be considered. We are not slaves anymore, break this norm.
First of all, If anyone mentions accident, illnesses or maternity as a reason for work gap they have to submit relative proofs for it. No company will buy your lies blindly! And secondly, NEVER EVER MENTION THAT YOU WERE ATTEMPTING EXAMS ELSEWHERE! That's the worst answer you can ever give to an HR. It exhibits instability and HR will think that this is job is not your priority and you may quit anytime! You will be rejected for sure! Do you even have any hiring / recruitment experience that you are giving out such advises?? Don't mislead people!
No dear. Personal choice and Personal commitments and Personal choices is non of anyone business. Indian companies need to respect Human life. Its life, things happen.
Many girls out there takes break during their marriage and after marriage too! and later chose to get back to work in another company or in the same you not mentioned that which is also a valid reason of many pausing their jobs or quitting it.
I was on carrier break for 10 yrs , MI e is reason 3. I don't want to miss the kids phase and we stayed in abroad for couple of years ...Now again I started my carrier in 2019. Happy that now a days no company is really judging the carrier gap.
The last reason is very common nowadays.... Thanks for sharing.... I also restarted my career after 5 years of gap. I have been working for the last 6 months. I am doing well and competing with others to give my best everyday.
A company asked me why I have my internship at year 2019 and then in 2021, What I did in the year in between. Matter of fact I was studying still and it's seen in my resume. Idk what else to tell them.
I once said the same thing about preparing exams but didnt work out well, The interviewer literally said “So you are quitter?, Arent you stable on one thing for a specific period of time”. 😂
Really.. all of her reasons are not at all good. Srsly.. accident cant stay longer than 6 months, after that WFH is there. Mom/child birth is for few months, max. There are so many other technical as well as genuine reasons to tackle such questions.
Bhai competition wala mat bolna Mere ko bola ki abhi bhi thumari age ha, what is the guarantee that you won't leave this job again to prepare for some other exam!! Accident wala bol dena, sabse best ha
I just got graduated and I'm thinking to take gap of 2yrs for govt job preparation...if after failing to get govt job I go for private job then can I answer that I took this gap for govt job preparation?? Will this answer work???
Mere husband ka 2 yrs se jyada ka gap ho chuka h people don't entertain bcoz of this gap.can u pls suggest how to convince for this.actually my husband lost job bcoz of office politics and bcoz of corona the gap extended
What if i am a single mom who had to take care of kids before going to a full-time school?? And then i want to get back to work.?? This helps many people.
I hate the fact that society and professional world in general continues to be be so damn fake and hypocritical. One can’t speak their mind it Seems and has to cook up a suitable lie. A simple I did not want to work and wanted to see the world while I am alive and young isn’t enough. Or I hated the toxic environment in my previous organisation and hence decided to take a break rather than daily meeting so called boss or colleague to focus on my sanity and gather peace in life Or I thought educating myself and nurturing myself taking a break from Rat race was an option I chose.
Doesn't help when you look like a gym guy, healthy as a horse, raised in an orphanage, been single as Selmon Bhai all your life and have been nothing but a C grader for most of your student life..
Mam can you please share some interview tips for married women in job they are asking what about your family planning .. Because of that some job are not ready to give married women because of baby planning
Good evening mam. Please make a proper video to prepare job resume by using free word cloud generator. Please please mam... I didn't understand properly.
PLS SEE THIS COMMENT Driksha I need ur help with my Cambridge interview! I am well prepared for the questions but I need some tips on how I can tell why I want to get in Cambridge pls help me!
What if I needed some time to enjoy my life. Just say the truth in plain language if you have talent there’s no way they reject you. BTW I’m a programmer so anything works for me as long as I’m good at programming not sure about other professions. Don’t just lie to get the job you may get the job but it’s not worth it
you pronounced didn't as "dint" ...Is this the correct pronunciation?? (I saw the pronunciation on Google also ...no d is silent there)please clear my doubt.
Bro in an interview ur not supposed to tell them about family, marraige , baby thoes are illegal question its your right to say no. They see if women and young and ask if they are having baby. If yes then chances of hiring will decrease
@@VanshikaKaushik-qu1jl yup. Just learned this in college. Because employers dont want you cuz ull be off for maternity leave. Its very selfish of them.
@@saaa.aaa. I'm doing a day job and building an application simultaneously trust me yaar things are so bad at job I just want to build a small scale business where I earn enough money that I'm earning in my job today
@@ektasolanki8577 no I don't want to lie but we can tell it in nice words, so I'm asking, how to tell as I had some phases which I can't share or I don't want to share; in English sentence without disrespecting the person.
Unfortunately, as much as these responses deserve sympathy and empathy, they will not get you the job. You need to go one step further and mention everything you have done remotely professional that could be relevant to your new role. For example, did you volunteer at an NGO as an accountant? Did you volunteer as part of a church sales group? Did you do any new certifications? That can help make a case that you are still professionally active even if not working full time! While many times (eg: best rest example) you may not be able to work, in other cases you should certainly consider doing things outside of staying at home in case you want to return to work at some point!
I seriously don't understand when it's someone's personal matter, why the hell do we need to share? There's nothing like that. A company who understands your merit doesn't even bother about your gap, etc.
I genuinely think you don't need to reveal why you needed a career to break. It's personal and nobody's business. Anyone who is not decent and tries prying into it is not worth your time. A lot of us take career breaks and should be accepted as normal. Just move on.
Last one doesn't work out .... bcoz once a aspirant will alwys be aspirant... he/she would never give up until eligible... so why would they hire someone who would leave some day...
I hate this culture of requiring to explain career gaps. As long as you weren't involved in a criminal prosecution and have the relevant skills, the company has nothing to lose from not knowing why you weren't working. There are also many reasons which will lead to discrimination in giving opportunity if you tell these people (mental health consultation, for example).
You can also talk about travel. I wanted to travel and explore the world a bit as travel teaches you a lot about what's happening around the world and gives you exposure, however I was also abreast with updates in my area of work and upgraded my skills during that time.
Hi mam..can u tell me how should I present myself if i have career switch . .suppose think i worked as a teacher for 5 years and now I'm switching to software..plz help me
Don’t even try to bluff in interview. If the interviewer is smarter you will be rejected in that round. Instead tell the actual reason behind why you were out of industry and why u r trying to join again
