On 28 October 1975, Radu Lupu premiered the Polish composer André Tchaikowsky's Piano Concerto Op.4 (composed 1966-1971) with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Uri Segal at the Royal Festival Hall, London.
In this excerpt from BBC Radio 3 program 'Study in Contrast: The story of André Tchaikowsky' presented by pianist David Owen Norris and aired on 10 July 1992, Radu Lupu recounts his initial involvement in premiering André Tchaikowsky's ambitious, complex and "very very difficult" work, and gives a brief overview of the composition.
