In my experience cath labs don’t utilize APPs much. When they do they tend to be PAs. Typically (again, in my experience) APPs on these teams do all of the pre and post cath lab care instead. Now, this could very likely include stabilizing and managing profoundly sick people on mechanical support devices, multiple drips, etc. and can be quite rewarding if you like the “buzz.”
