Interview with Antoni Plasència, former director of ISGlobal [in Catalan, subtitles available] 

After nine years at the forefront of ISGlobal, Antoni Plasència is stepping down as director general because "it is a decision that had to be made" following two strategic cycles that he considers successful: "we have grown in science, in translation, quantitatively in terms of people, and in terms of budget".
We summarised in just over seven minutes the conversation we had for almost an hour. Plasència underlines with satisfaction that 80% of ISGlobal's funding comes from outside Spain and that "means that we play in the big leagues". When he reviews his professional career, he considers that he has been a stimulator of institution building, stresses the importance of collective intelligence and the Ubuntu philosophy of "I am all of us", and assures that "the most important capital that one manages and must bring to fruition is trust".
