Monologue d’un réalisme glaçant, La Voix humaine de Francis Poulenc et Jean Cocteau s’apparente à une sinueuse progression dans la psyché de Elle, personnage paroxystique qui, selon Cocteau lui-même, exige « davantage qu’une chanteuse : une tragédienne ». Dans la production de Krzysztof Warlikowski, créée au Palais Garnier en 2015, la soprano canadienne Barbara Hannigan donne corps à cette femme, à la fois jalouse, apeurée, hystérique et menaçante. A frighteningly realistic monologue, La Voix humaine by Francis Poulenc and Jean Cocteau is a sinuous progression into the psyche of Elle, a paroxysmal character that, in Cocteau own words, demands "more than a singer: a tragic actress". In Krzysztof Warlikowski's production, created at the Palais Garnier in 2015, Canadian soprano Barbara Hannigan brings substance to this woman, at once jealous, frightened, hysterical and menacing.
