I don't think they could care about industry accolades. They are the results of experiences and moments in time. I think what keeps them moving forward in all of this time is the audience that they have cultivated and nutured so well.

they accept he's part of the story, thats why he was included on the transmission podcast. Hook dislikes NO, and NO dislikes Hook. Frankly, its better that theyre apart. NO can keep making good music without Hook fighting and holding them back, and Hook can keep touring Joy Division and keeping Ian's memory alive.

That old codger is one of the most creative and influential musicians to emerge from the punk era who was an important member of two of the best groups to come out of this country - have some respect instead of just leaving negative comments spreading hate - he's nearly 65 for fucks sake with attendant health issues. @@gargantuk / yeah, I saw joy division and I saw new order when they were still shining a spotlight on an empty microphone stand. I like them very much. I gave them my time, my energy and my loyalty. Some of their stuff has aged well. It’s embarrassing for me to see him dribbling. Thanks.

@@martincooke3934 Hey man, I didn't mean to be harsh and I apologise - I think I just get a bit defensive with Bernard because unlike some other members of New Order, I think he's always presented himself as quite humble, self effacing and genuine and isn't prone to grandstanding and self-mythology. I agree it is sad to see our childhood heroes having grown old, bald, overweight or increasingly embarrassing when they open their mouths but that's the way of things for all those musicians that just will not - or most probably for a lot of them for financial reasons, cannot retire and fade from the public eye......I cringe when I hear a certain disgruntled ex-member speak and as for John Lydon.....I often wonder if there is a link between the Trump supporting contrarian and the iconic face of punk that was .....I imagine there may well be people in our lives who knew us at a certain point and then compare us to now and think 'what the fuck.....?!' Difference being we didn't grow up and old in public...well, I speak for myself anyway......peace and love! I must enviously ask - where did you see JD play?

@@gargantuk / it’s ok brother, I’m not one to idolize my hero’s. It’s good to call a fart a fart. Anyway, that’s not to denigrate their legacy. I respect and admire them enormously and closer is the only piece of vinyl I retain but I don’t worship the old twots. Thank you for the generosity in your reply. I should be less dismissive in future. I saw joy division at Bradford St. George’s hall, supporting buzzcocks. Can’t remember the date.
