One goal that few reach - the Olympic Games. In a sport with fierce competition - rhythmic gymnastics. Still, Stiliyana Nikolova and Boryana Kalein choose to walk towards Paris 2024 hand in hand, as they stood on the podium during the World Cup in Sofia.
Boryana Kalein won gold in the all-around and silver in clubs, while Stiliyana Nikolova triumphed in ball and ribbon, and won silver in the all-around and hoop. The two Bulgarian gymnasts listened to the national anthem holding hands, without even hinting that they were competing.
"First of all, we are people and we are support for each other. It is not easy, and if we do not support each other, it becomes even more difficult. Yes, we are competition, but it is always in the background. We have to thank our coaches for always they taught us to be a team, to help and support each other," said Boryana Kalein in the "This Morning" studio.
Bulgaria has already won two places in the individual competition in rhythmic gymnastics at the Olympic Games in Paris. We have yet to find out who the native representatives will be.
"We are all working for the Olympic Games and working hard in the gym. The best for Bulgaria will go. We are doing our best to be us. The management, our coaches decide. They are the people who can make the most objective decision. After the European Championship we will it is clear how the Olympic team will be formed. We have one task - to play our combinations in the best way," reveal Boryana and Stiliyana.

Kalein has the World Cup in Tashkent (April 26-28), and then she and Nikolova will represent Bulgaria at the European Cup in Baku (May 3-5) and the European Championship in Budapest (May 22-26).
"Realistically, it seems like there is a lot of time, but it will fly by quickly. We have a very busy schedule, but our coaches have adjusted it according to the capabilities of each and the time it takes for each of us to get into optimal shape," says Kalein.
Both are aware of the competition.
"At the World Cup in Sofia, only the world champion from last year was not there, so all the big competitors participated. In no case should we underestimate them, but continue to work as well," Nikolova is emphatic.
For Boryana Kalein, the possible participation in the Olympic Games will be the second in her career. In Tokyo, she finished in fifth place in the final standings.
"It certainly gave me experience because I have clarity about what I can expect in terms of emotions from this competition and that's a pretty big plus for me. It's a competition that happens once every 4 years and very few people enter it. There are a lot of good athletes , but Olympic sports are few and far between. To touch the best in the world is amazing," she says.
