I like that you are going into the technical/details of the process of post surgery procedures. I think patients can really benefit from having an advocate like you to consult with in order to make sure they are staying on top of all the moving parts and asking their doctors the right questions as well as keeping an eye out for anything that may be going wrong... all while receiving that psychological support from a therapist AND a consultant like yourself with experience. Holy shit what a nice find buddy! I'm from Montreal, I've looked a few years ago and didn't find anything for LL in Canada. Was planning to go with Dr. Lee in S Korea but now I can do it in my hometown, amazing! Hey I'm really short and I'm tired staying stuck at 5'5.. But at the same time I'm scared I will loose my running abilities because of the surgery and I don't want to. I'm only 16 years old and I can exceed to even 18mph and I never EVER trained or did anything for sprinting so I sometimes feel that I'm talented there... I don't want to loose even my 10% of my speed after the surgery.
Since you're 16 I'd say you have a chance to get taller without surgery Take hgh ( human growth hormone) his will make you taller ( make sure your growth plates are still open by xray ) Also aromatase inhibitor ( drug ) This will prevent your growth plates form closing so you will grow for longer times ( for example you naturally stop growing till 18 by taking it your grow till you're 21 ) it's used by lots of body builders for other reasons and it's safe
Why do you want to run? lol At the end of the day, you'll have way more benefits from being taller and run 15mph than being your current height and keep running at 18mph. This is just your brain giving you excuses to sabotage the idea of getting this surgery. You're 16 and you said you never trained to track, so why do you care about running that fast?! It's not like even if you had the height to compete against professional runners you'd be able to, because they've been training since young age.
If you are really serious about become a professional runner stay focused on that goal and be proud of the gift god gave you. If you don't plan to be a professional and just do it for a hobby then maybe consider doing it. However you still have time to grow buddy. I am also 5"5 dude but I'm 33. If you get into bodybuilding this will boost your confidence substantially ;)
@@petrosmixides2843 long term you're not taking it like body builders with huge amounts It will also increase your speed by 5% but if you're competing in any sports you may get tested and suspended if you're on it

Glad to have you apart of the community! Yup, you can potentially gain up to 8cm on the femur which is a tad over 3inches. It costs a lot and takes a lot work but it has been done

What are your opinions on bmp-7 As far as I understand if it's injected into the joints it can make the person grows even after the growth plates already closed My knowledge about it is limited since I am not a native English speaker ( my English isn't that advanced ) and the studies are pretty confusing
I just want to sit with you face to face one day :( I have a problem with my left that I don’t think anyone has it and I’ve been doing research on it for years It’s shorter than my right leg about 9mm it’s also Way skinner on my calf and I know my nerves are damaged my question is ..since I live Canada will this be covered under OHIP ?
Perhaps the discrepancy has increased since you measured? Yeah if they see it as causing medical issues it could be covered by insurance which would be great

Hello again, Victor This question isn’t relate to LL but I want to ask you since you are bodybuilder 1. I have fast metabolism. no matter how much I eat, I won’t gain weight. at first, I didn’t think about it but then I started to think so after people around me always said that my body temperature is very hot. do I have to eat more than other ? 2. How much calories should I take in order to gain weight ? My BMI is below average. also, I tends to get my stomach full after a few dish. any advice ? 3. Is it possible to build a muscle like you ? I’m not sure if my metabolism will burn all of the calories away before I can use those to build a muscle or not. Having a great body like you is my dream, it’s look so damn great
Ha appreciate it bro. So yeah you might need to eat more it really depends I'd have to ask more details to tell you specifically. Usually with the clients I work with I go off of assessments like physique pictures to see body composition of fat to muscle, then how much they've been eating, what their goals are, how much cardio they're doing, their type of work, their favorite foods etc. Lots go into it. But to build muscle; enough food and enough protein, ample water and sleep...which I need more of lol

Well yeah it'll depend on a lot of factors. The average is about 8cm femurs and 5cm tibias but there are unique cases where you can go slightly more on tibia maybe 6cm if surgeon and you see fit but it's all about observing along the way. Yes, the more length the more challenging the soft-tissue resistance
@@Cyborg4Life Thank you. I have a "small" (compared to the cosmetics lenghtenings I usually see) lenght discrepancy between my legs, 1,1 centimeters. This has caused big problems to my body, muscle imbalances mainly but also with digestion (GERD syndrome), intestine activity, and more. I met Dr. Catagni but I was told to wear a lift of 1cm lifetime, an operation was unconceivable in my case. I'm wearing it for 1 year and a half now and I can say it's really ugly. You can't no more walk barefoot, many activities are excluded. For an active person like me (always played sports through all my life) it's an issue, psycological mainly but also in practice. From what I read and hear about limb lenghtening surgeries, 1cm is really easy to obtain, without complications. I really don't understand.
@@Frank80BB Yes you're absolutely right a 1cm discrepancy is often a very easy procedure but oftentimes not even performed as a shoe lift can help. But I understand what you mean because I had a discrepancy also and realize that even that small of a discrepancy is cause for some problems. Is it just 1cm or is it larger than that like 2cm or more?
Would I lose my footwork after leg lengthening 5cm-6cm conservatively? I know I have to do physical therapy so how would that affect my footwork in something like boxing/mma and dancing? I know my muscles will be fine but do I lose the muscle memory and footwork?
There's always a possibility but no one will be anywhere close to full recovery until about 2 years and honestly closer to 3. It just takes time especially for internal tibial lengthening. But one thing I know is proper training programming can do wonders for maximizing recovery, strength, and ballistic explosiveness assuming you had no complications and didn't over lengthen. Footwork will be different but I like to think that building muscle strength to match new limb length can help you move limbs faster. Then balance training for finesse and tight movement patterns. I don't know...work ethic and time tells all. Wish I had a more definite answer for you
Dr dror paley is probably the best he is in the us one suregy costs around 200.,000, u want the full 5 inches and u get two surgeries that will be around 400,000+ but as cyborg said all of his picks r good

Yeah that would definitely help but you may still get tight as your muscles can only get so flexible based on your current limb length. For example if you can palm the floor, great! But when you lengthen you will get tight again after a certain amount as the muscles couldn't stretch to that length prior. But yes, flexibility will help you big time more than not being flexible
