She remains one of my absolute favorites of the period. She was elegant, she had class, her voice was melodious and mimic proof it was so distinctive. All her roles are memorable to me, I pray she is having a retirement to her liking. Thank You.
I adored Glynis Johns and was so sad to hear of her death, even at such a great age. The reaction seemed to be that she was best known for being the mother in "Mary Poppins" when she'd actually had a very long, varied and brilliant career. I saw her on stage in the West End in London in the 1960s in "The King's Mare" when she played Anne of Cleeves opposite Keith Mitchell as Henry VIII. She was absolutely brilliant. And I adored her as a mermaid in the comedy films about "Miranda". Whatever she did, she did wonderfully.
